    But you don't select a specific table do you? I would guess that one would be chosen for you by the staff at the restaurant.  What I take "reserve" to mean is to choose a specific pitch/table/whatever.

    But if I book theatre tickets at the booking office I get to choose which seats I want. 🤔

    Well I did when our friend with Parkinsons was not housebound smile No extra charge.

    Seriously if David is travelling all that distance and intends spending a considerable amount of time on that site it makes good sense to book - in the same way in the UK it makes good sense to at least phone ahead.

    I quite agree, Easy. In those circumstances booking makes sense which is presumably why David does it.

    its not that they wouldn't like it (I'm sure they would) but it's too far out of the comfort zone to try it....

    no bookings (or reservationswink) to make, no arrival times to stick to, no one wants your money till you leave, no peg to pitch to, etc, etc

    wheres the fun in any of that....?undecided

     I doubt it as most peoples comfort zone is probably more expansive than you give your fellow man (or woman) credit for.

    No, it’s inaccurate in my case - none of us can possibly be the judge of that in others so why say such things about fellow members?

    its incredible how easily some folk are 'offended' Tinny.....

    some folk on CT (no names, no pack drill and grouping them together in this post might lead to use of a disallowed collective noun) seem to be the most easily 'offended' folk I've ever come across.

    perhaps you have a delicate constitution?

    Also I don't get this comfort zone thing at all.

    I mean we are talking about a holiday here, a leisure activity? When I go away on holiday I want to be comfortable, is that strange? Why should I ever decide to do something that is not comfortable on a holiday or time away? Why advocate, pontificate even, doing something out of someone's 'comfort zone' for a holiday?

    I like going abroad a lot, I probably fit in better than most with growing up in Italy, have no problems with most languages (fluent in one with a Florentine accent)  and have driven over there since I was 18. But I personally see no comfort in towing a caravan for three/fours days when I can do the same journey in less than half a day? My record is front door (15C) to pool (34C) in under 6 hours.

    Now that is me, I appreciate that other like to tow abroad and love doing it. Brilliant go for it, it's your money and time, but I certainly don't go on about how they should holiday 'my way' and go on endlessly about any one who doesn't and start to question their LMF (look it up), label them and insult them.undecided
