As you say, jae, the problem is yours. Whilst I have every sympathy with your personal situation, it’s not something the club can be expected  to take into account when updating the booking policy in line with other leisure organisations and to give a lot of members what they've been asking for.

Anyone who makes a booking is fully entitled to cancel as per the T&Cs. That’s quite different to not bothering to turn up. Do you not plan, book and then cancel if ill health prevails? It’s surely the sensible thing to do.

From what I understand the mini frenzy booking for next Easter will be just that, it will be limited to the days released, not a whole year of bookings. I'm a bit surprised at the number of sites out of action.

Does anyone know when the ongoing booking dates will be? Does the club have a list or do we have to await a post on here from Rowena or others from HQ. To enable sensible forward planning members need a programme setting out forthcoming "frenzy " dates IMHO

There doesn't appear to be a fixed date for the release of the the next year's booking as of yet, but that may well change. It has been roughly the middle of the first week in the month.

I've not received an e-mail informing me.....one rule for the rich and another for the poor it would seem, H&T.winkfoot-in-mouth

I am sorry to hear of your ill health. I think in your situation booking then cancelling due to ill health is not dishonourable or dishonest. Make full use of the club's booking rules, they seem that they suit your particular situation very well, ie no deposits and short cancellation?

But surely doing that on a regular basis would result in a reprimand, at the very least, from HO, who have said in the past that they monitor such activity.

Did they say they monitor outside of the 72 hour deadline, Nellie?

They definitely said they listen to people's reasons and understand genuine cases and don't want to penalise people unnecessarily.

I maybe be wrong but the club has said they do not monitor how many cancel outside of the 72 hour period. They have said they look at people who do a lot of bookings to see if they are taken up but no action is taken against those that cancel outside of the 72 hours.

Action is only taken against those who cancel or don't show within 72 hours, and then it's threes trikes before the club looks at the personal circumstances before taking action.

    I think?

I think at present you'll have to opt for the club e mail messages via your profile if you want to hear the release dates in advance.

I thought the new system was better but I am now having second thoughts. If you need to be notified by email or keep watching out for a date to be announced for the next month then it is very unlikely to make booking easier for members with limited time and access to the site which has often been a complaint about frenzy day.

I should add that since I do not want to book any bank holidays it makes little difference to me either way.

Its Frenzy Day times 12 tongue-out but without the taking down of the whole website for the day before as with Frenzy Day.

FD was advised on this forum, most likely faceache too, and by email months in advance. So no fundamental difference.

FD has had a defined start time. Has the new system, or is it a case of staying up late the night before instead of taking a day off work to be at the start gate, for those who ordinarily miss out on FD? cool

The school year for 2018/19 is available to us now, a first, so can choose if to book on the 11th for Easter tongue-out provided I stay up on the 10th tongue-out

Don't ya just lurve progress tongue-out

It seems to work well with the other club, there's no fuss and bother about it. If this club wants to make a fuss and create extra frenzy days that's what will happen again, people panicked into making bookings. If those who were interested used their initiative to keep a look out for dates it would probably all fall into place, this way, by creating pressure points, it will probably fall apart and we'll be told we're too confused to cope.

    WHY

All this will do is make the booking system more intolerable, clearly there are still members who book multiple sites in advance then choose which ones they don't want just days before the holiday date and cancel the booking. this leave members who use the booking system fairly unable to book sites they really want as they cant wait until the week before to book. Bring in a deposit system and stop this NOT allow them to book even further in advance

Chatsworth can be booked from 15 March 2019.

Unfortunately this turned out not to be the case. Although I booked the third week and received confirmation, it seems it never actually existed. There is now a statement on the site page saying bookings are currently not being taken for 2019. Further enquiries confirmed that it won't be opening until June, when refurbishment work is completed.

What time on the booking day will bookings be able to be booked? I've tried I've missed out. It's like frenzy day each month. We need to book for school holidays bank holidays so all the tricky ones. We work full time so tricky to sit at a pc for 24 hours in the hope your at the right time when bookings open.

Also if you want to book at end of month and beginning of next month is that going to be possible? Others have raised on this thread but I don't see the answer from the club or the FAQ.

    Anyone know? Thanks

It's a good idea to keep an eye on the What's On/News section and also the UK Holidays/sites on the bar at the top of this page where the club posts updates etc.
