ACSI Scheme Apps
I have purchased the ASCI handbooks for this year for touring France. But to download the campsite on an I phone via the app is causing confusion.
I have downloaded the CC app (white CC with blue background) and the ACSI app (two red tents on a black background) ,
I am not sure what the difference is between the two yet.
The CC app requests a password but I have never set up an account, and the ASCI scheme is requesting complete database at £11.99 or just France at £2.99.
On the removable discount card in the handbook which is perforated for removing, is a 6 digit access code what is this used for?
What have other members done using the app on an Iphone.
TIA

The CC app covers all countries, but only shows you the sites in the ACSI discount scheme. You have to buy access to the app as well as the book (with the code on the card) to use it.
The ACSI app covers all the ACSI inspected sites, including those which are not in the discount scheme. The app is free, but you pay for 12 month (from date of purchase) access to the countries you want (or the whole package).
I prefer the second option. The real pain is that whatever you choose you STILL need the silly tear-out card to get the discount ....and this means physically getting hold of the books in mid December.......difficult when already touring abroad.
The whole set-up is rather a mess IMHO, but the actual info and discounts are great.

The whole ACSI 'thing' is muddled. There are six different websites including www.campingcard.co.uk (for discounted sites) and www.eurocampings.co.uk (for all sites, including the discounted ones). Details here. To be able to buy the ACSI guide and card (to access the discounts) there are about six purchasing options and prices................!
People misunderstand, too. They see an ACSI Logo on a campsite door and think it offers a discount with the card - it doesn't necessarily, it just means it has been inspected by ACSI inspectors.
Every year it just seems to get more muddled, with more options available under the ACSI banner!

Yes, they cast their net very wide to catch more fish. All those apps, books, badges, cards, websites, and logos - that means there's an awful lot of campsites paying them money to be included somewhere in the scheme.

Not sure if it depends on how you buy nad for how long but our membeship card had a code on it that you used to access the app database?

The app isn't very well designed. You can't load the maps to an SD card, it stores it on the phone. I loaded it a few days ago but had to take it off as it took up too much space on the phone.
