Sorry to disagree, but if that's the only time they can get away then what choice do they have ?

Here's another take on it. We are both retired and don't work but nearly all of our trips are Thursday or Friday till either Monday or Tuesday, so over a weekend.

Why? because we have my  house bound 93 year old Mother in law living with us so have to rely on my Son and his Wife to take over her care so we can have a break. smile

Come off it, Banff, you've been around long enough to know all the arguments. Book earlier or live with it.

I say. More than a tad inconvenient and unsporting of those working types to book weekends on CC sites - What! Have they got nothing better to do with there time I ask!

Just out of passing interest I wonder which site it is.

Agree with all above, due to the popularity of club sites (can't think why reading some stuff on here) you have to book early, just like those people did.

I hate it when my favourite fresh pizza is sold out at Sainbury's when I turn up late in the eveningsmile

So Banff, assuming you are not just posting to create disharmony or it's not a joke, what do you want done? and what do you suggest?

Regarding weekend bookings, my wife and I both worked hard for almost 50 years. When we took a break we had to do the same as the OP is complaining about. We are now retired and come and go when we chose. Get used to it because we plan to carry on doing it for a good while yet!

With respect WTG I respect your thoughts but I am quite happy to let those who wish to book weekends do so. If that prevents me getting a spec I shall not whinge.

I can see the OPs point of view having had problems booking a complete week before. What I now do Is decide when we’re likely to want a break and book it. We then decide afterwards if we’re likely to go or not and, if not, we cancel it beforehand.

    • For the record we’re currently on a “honeypot” site that shows “full” on the website. It has never been full in reality and it’s always worth ringing the site for availability. We were once told by a warden that the website will always show site full unless there are at least two pitches free so it’s always worth a call.
