Happy New Year to everybody. 😀 Unfortunately here in Notts it has dawned dull 🌧 and wet. So not so good for a New Year's Day walk.☔️ Fetching mother from care home later, for tea. Plenty of Christmas cake still to eat.

Well time for some DIY to sort out a problematical kitchen tap that refuses to turn off. Realised we had a problem just as we were going away for 15 nights on 14th December and so managed to stop the flow and put up with the problem of no kitchen cold tap since our return on 29th December.

Best wishes to all for 2017 - hope it is at least no worse and hopefully better than 2016 smile

    Alan

It will depend on what sort of tap of course but if you need to replace the innards that control the flow of water a company called Tap Magician is really good.

A very wet start to the new year down here in Cornwall, but one of the things about having dogs is that they don't look out of the window and think "no way am I going out there"! So it was off to the dunes for a shorter than usual morning walk which meant that Harry missed out on the "liver cake ladies" (he can spot them from a mile off!) and Lady's ball stealing activities were curtailed. Brightening up now, though, so possibly off to the beach this afternoon - and it'd be rude not to call in for a pint on the way home wouldn't it?!!

    Happy New Year everyone.

Horrible wet morning here, so not doing much, have to pick up the car from the pub later, as we had a taxi home after seeing in the new year.

Can I wish everyone a very Happy New Year with lots of caravaning trips. smile

Happy New Year to all CTer's.

Lovely bright and sunny day here today after a frost overnight.

Been and collected Mum from her care home for a few hours, she's on good form today quite chatty smile her walking has also improved slightly, not needing the walker quite so much.

Sat here with the sun streaming through the windows only problem is its showing how dirty they are, they will have to wait until I'm feeling up to cleaning them frown

A very wet, windy and cold start to the New Year here.  I think we will give the New Year day walk a miss this year.

    Pouring down here.

Had planned to clean the seats in the car after washing floor mats and hoovering yesterday, in preparation for the drive to Landican cemetery on Tuesday to pay farewell to another of the matriarchs of the extended family. Want the car to be clean taking mum, the last surviving matriarch, with me.

Happy New Year to you all.

Very grey here little rain just odd drizzle. Walked the dog but didn't get damp, although wellies needed over the grassland. Not inspired to tackle anything 😕. Seem to have had a touch of the cold/flu since Boxing Day, but neither comes nor goes 😮.

Typing this on my Kindle Fire 😃 seem to be slow nor eating my words is it a fluke or fixed ?  😯

Hope you can get your car seats cleaned before Tuesday KeefySher. No one in our house is car proud and such events galvanise car cleaning. Sadly it usually funerals these days we're out if the loop for weddings and christenings at the moment 😉.

Thanks for your comments. We are in the cycle of funerals this past year or so. One of the signs of how people are living longer with octogenarians passing in our extended family. Most are ladies now as we had a spell of losing fathers in their 50's and 60's over the decades. As we are paying respects it's only right in my mind to turn up in a clean car where you can i.e. the interior as the exterior will doubtless be filthy from the journey up.

    Happy New Year everyone.

Lovely and sunny here meantime, just off out to start cleaning the Volvo so it will look its best for a trade-in price on Tuesday.

Long time since it was last cleaned.

I spent most of the day catching up on sleep and doing the outside chores in between showers. It's a grey, wet and miserable day here!

Well, listen up all you Southerners. The sun is on the way!smile We went out for a nice walk just after lunch and were very good in passing the pub without going in. (It was only because it was heaving). Still, felt very virtuous on the walk back home.

Looking forward to a year of UK touring this year. All I'm asking for is some decent health for one and all. Best wishes to everyone.

Going back a bit post wise  loved The Lady in the Van. Saw it on the big screen in NZ in the summer   on TV here and was given DVD for Christmas. I'm definitely southern 😀. I think Alan Bennett is like the late Victoria Wood, great at observing the human condition. Would write more but eating my words again 😬😬😬 so hope you got my drift.

A beautiful clear, but cold, day here. We've done nothing (in between milkings) - taking advantage of having part of a day off. I'm wondering if it's time to break out these two Christmas presents. Knowing my predilection for a good G & T - maybe you can guess my husband's name?

Done very little here today either, walked the dog twice in the rain  and collected the car from the pub this afternoon. Resisted and didn't go in this time. Caught up on some tv on iplayer that I'd missed. Hoping for better weather tomorrow!

Bit of a lie in this morning. Up at 7am, got breakfast (Mrs H had hers in bed - porridge this morning!)

Then wrote another report and emailed it off (got to make a few bob her and there).

Found that washing machine had sprung a leak in the drain hose, so replaced that (why do they put these things in the most inaccessible place??)

Went looking at wall and floor tiles for the kitchen in the afternoon. Another job to do.....frown
