Yes, we’ve been using Pharmacy2U for a good number of years now. Very convenient. Just click on what I need and usually within the week it pops through the door. There’s also the facility to be able to order for my wife, so just the one login/password.

@DEBSC - that's deplorable service from your surgery / pharmacist - isn't there any way you can complain because it doesn't have to be like that? Our surgery is always extremely busy - six Doctors for a population of between 10 and 20,000+ - depending on time of year. Typically, I can order our scripts on-line, on a Monday morning and I will get a text, late Tuesday morning to say they are ready for collection. It's all done electronically between surgery and chemists and really is very slick.

Thanks @DavidKlyne we have considered it but the post here isn’t very good, sometimes we get nothing for more than a week and then a bundle banded together. (the joys of living in a rural Devon village) Our pharmacy was getting better before this last prescription, they seem to change staff 3 monthly, or at least the pharmacist and it seems to depend very much on them how it works. We had a great pharmacist for years but then the local chemist was taken over by Boots, down hill, with a great many in our village seemingly very dissatisfied, since then.

Another very sunny day, but very cold too. No snow here, only further north in Scotland. OH did some washing, but the drying will have to wait till tomorrow as we were distracted by DD and the boys coming to visit.

Daddy was having some relatives round to watch Rangers v Celtic this afternoon, so DD decided to get out of the house as the “fans” can be rather raucous ! As we had no plans she asked if they could come for lunch, bringing bread, ham etc , and cookies , from Sainsbury’s, so that was a nice surprise. We provided Tomato Soup, which is the boys’ favourite.

It’s not just rural Devon, our little street in a town has to wait days for post as well, so it makes walking down worth it😡 very annoying.

When I was a young lad there used to be a couple of ladies my mum knew in London. Very occassionally they would visit us in Southampton. No telephone but they used to send a letter/card that morning to say they were coming tha afternoon! How things have changed? With regard to the online prescriptions the tracking information is online and the post office do text you with when they will deliver which probably over rides the generally poor service some might get. They also give you the option to change the delivery date or nominate a safe place for it to be left.

That is pretty poor service @DEBSC it usually takes 3 days from emailing the request for a repeat prescription until we get a text from the pharmacy saying that it is ready for collection. They do offer a delivery service but we have not used it yet as we cannot be sure when we will be at home.

I'm pleased to read that your operation went well @Oneputt just a shame that have had to cancel a trip out with your caravan.

@Bakers2 it is good to hear that your foot is getting better and you can now get out on your usual walks once again.

Unlike you @richardandros we have had no snow yet, instead we had a little frost first thing and have been under blue skies, with a cold wind, all day. OH completed the washing from our trip, which dried outside. It was another clear sky this evening as the moon appeared.

A couple of views, the first just as it appeared over the rooftops and the second with Jupitor, and The Twins just visible too.

It wasn't too bad yesterday weather wise as what fell was mostly hail but today promises multiple snow showers, some of which have already fallen. Hope it doesn't get too bad as I have a 9 o'clock appointment with the Phlebotomist in town. Have to set my alarm to get up a bit earlier than normal.

Glad to hear that your procedure went well @Oneputt.

@richardandros took a screenshot from FB, taken by NASA apparently. Great picture I thought. It does seem the East Coast has the snow. We are 30 miles inland from you and have nothing. Hope it goes soon for you.

I think that we have, so far, been fortunate as today we have had more sunshine and without the chill wind we had yesterday, until this evening when we had a very light hail shower. Unfortunately it is too cloudy to see the Quadrantid meteor shower here.

it’s been a very cold, but lovely sunny day here again. We did a nice local woodland walk, then I had a couple of hours in the garden. Lovely to see lots of bulbs poking through, but they need to lie low for a bit at the moment. OH working on Jeep resto, couple of wheels off to go to be refurbished locally later in week. Mum’s tomorrow…….see what her garden is doing. We are expecting snow/rain rest of week, so indoor jobs for me.

We've had snow overnight, here in N Warks.... just on the day that our daughter, SIL and grandson are to begin their journey back home to the Outer Hebrides. Their ferry isn't until tomorrow, so they plan on stopping over at the Borders this evening. They've bought their campervan down and they have booked a site for tonight.

Looks like a tidying up day for us today... 🤣🤣

It has snowed overnight here as well. The road is clear as it has been gritted but the cars are covered and I have an early morning appointment ☹️

I got a text warning on my phone late last night saying “snow stopping soon”. I had a glance outside……….nothing🤭 It’s white over with frost this morning though. Got down to -4c last night. Hoping my new greenhouse heater arrives today🤞 Ponds are almost solid ice, just hope any frogs are ok. Sunny and bright.

No snow on the roof but just a tiny smattering on the road and paths, very cold though. We can see Exmoor from the bedroom window and snow has settled there. It looks like being dry so did plan a walk, as rain forecast for the rest of the week, but I purchased chicken and lots of veg to batch cook some recipes for the freezer, also I have lots of other indoor jobs that I must get done, bad planning on my part. How did I ever find time to work full time, everything got done then but now I always seem to be playing catch-up. Town visit tomorrow as things to do there, then early morning appointment at the hospital on Wednesday.

Lovely moon shadow of our garage on our snowy drive when I got up at 0500 this morning. It was just a dusting but heavier than a couple of days ago. My phone still says it's -4c at the moment, but porch says -2.5. But it's very clear and sunny.

Finding It hard to keep the bird feeders full, I filled the seed ones 3 times yesterday! I'm putting fat balls out, along with the daily mealworm and suet pellets. Keeping water liquid is tougher, though 🫣. They had some luxury treats, suet and raisins from hidden depths in the kitchen. More for tomorrow too.

My greenhouse faces due south - so I'm hoping for the best for what's in there. Nothing priceless and only the sweetpeas in the way of new growth. I'm just using it for protection.

As its our wedding anniversary I'm having a day off emptying the kitchen. Almost there, last bits tomorrow - how have we got soooo much stuff ,we culled when we moved! Just the last minute things tomorrow 🤞. It wasn't snowy 46 years ago, grey and mild.

I'm hoping the roads will be better when we head out for lunch, others can have aired them 😉. If not I'll have to use tge main roads to get to Elton Walled Garden centre and cafe.

Right must get the dog walked. Have a good day folks, stay safe and warm. Safe travels to all those who have to travel

Happy Anniversary @Bakers2 , have a nice day. I forgot to plant my Sweetpeas early. Did rescue some tiny snowdrop bulbs that I found nearly unearthed when I was tidying up, probably squirrels or blackbirds, and I have re potted these to give them a chance. Ground is frozen solid, no chance of digging at all.

Got down to -13.1C on our weather station last night and now -4.4C and I have just done some washing and thought if sun stays out it will sort of dry with the light breeze we have got but there is some cloud coming in from the south heyho, ground very hard and 1 water butt a bit solid and some ice on the top but it has full sun on it at the moment.

We used to have the Mendips on view from our back door when we lived in Somerset and used to see snow on them in the winter.

I only have a tiny greenhouse and a couple of days ago trimmed the lettuces that were growing well and we will used them this week just hope they grow again as it was the second time I have cut them, no heat in mine but the only plant in there is some young Agave plants that a friend gave me from an old greenhouse in the plot they bought earlier last year and they have been in there we reckon for about 20 years and have survived over that period so hope mine can cope as well, rain/snow forecast here on Wednesday onwards and OH needs to top up some of his meds so a visit to Pharmacie and to have another Covid jab should have been last month but as we had both got colds they said come back in a month.

Keep warm folks and take care on roads and footpaths.

    Thank you.

My snowdrop living up to its name and trying valiantly. Just the one showing colour, if you look closely.

I'm seemed to have missed a post about your op @Oneputt , took lots of attempts and positions to get that red.... Pleased it went well and hopefully heals quickly so you can resume normal activities.

We have a wagtail in the garden with all the other birds, not one before here.

I think untreated roads and our pavements are going to be dangerous later after partial thaw and refreeze.

@Bakers2 Happy Anniversary, have a lovely lunch. .@milliehull would you believe it, I nearly always watch Country File but missed it yesterday, I might have to find this on catchup. This used to be our favourite walk and no doubt the family will suggest it at Easter when they come, the dogs love running and splashing in the river. OH can’t manage it anymore but he’ll no doubt have a little wander then head back to the pub for a coffee. The real problem lately are the ticks! They are in abundance there. The last time we went I wore thick socks, trousers tucked in, proper boots, still found one on my leg and the dogs gained plenty of them. The NT were lending out tick removers to borrow and 2 dog owners were using them outside of the shop to remove ticks.

@Takethedogalong our daughter lives in a village on Exmoor and the views from her house are stunning. It’s soo cold there though, and if it’s going to snow it’s in her village.

The garden is always full of birds I feed them summer and winter, we have no pets now so these have taken their place. I broke the ice in the birdbath and topped all the feeders and the bird table up, it’s like Piccadilly Circus out there now. The jays are getting very bold, there is definitely a pecking order, the woodpeckers are top of the list.

Half the batch cooking done, I’d better stop procrastinating and get on with the rest.

We love Exmoor and Dartmoor. I think Dartmoor would be my first choice. Far too long since we have seen either. Different way of life, one that we would love even now we are older. Mind, there might have to be a convenient field for Air Ambulance if OH throws a wobbly😱😁 We have spent some walks foraging woodlands round us (which are rather nice) and fetch home a couple of bags of fallen wood each walk. We dry it, store if, then use it in stove, I think we would survive, would definitely have an Aga, so multi purpose. Mind I’d still want a dishwasher and the internet with a good connection.🤣

Early appointment for bloods this morning so I was up early to take the snow and frost off the car. It stays outside now as part of the garage was used to accommodate the new boiler room when the extension was done. Despite having a frost cover on it still took half an hour, just in time for a text message to say the appointment had been cancelled. "Oh dear" I didn't say!🤬 so a quick check online for an alternative and fortunately bagged one 5 miles away at 1 o'clock. Phlebotomist said the place I was originally going to had both staff phone in sick/snowed in so 120 patients had their appointments cancelled. I was lucky to bag a replacement.

OH decided we should do the food shop at Tesco this morning instead. The shelves were depleted to say the least but at least they did have full shelves of Easter Eggs!! "Hooray, we won't starve" I most definitely didn't say.😡 What next, Halloween stuff in July? Back to school clothing in April?🤷‍♂️

Happy anniversary @Bakers2. Hope you enjoyed the meal. Best wishes to you both.

Must admit the Clwydian Hills looked lovely this morning, bathed in Snow and sunshine.

    Stay safe everyone.
