Sunny through high thin cloud and slight South Easterly breeze here on the Kent Coast.Going to the storage area today to load up,tidy up etc ,ready for 'the off' tomorrow for Germany and the "Concorde" factory bash 
. Will be away for a week so depending on Wi-Fi availability ,,,i may not be on here much

I phoned them this morning. They have just rung back with a date for fixing, 9th June.

That is not bad we have to wait until the 20th despite getting home on the 5th, so have to put the van back in storage. I was hoping to take it straight there and avoid the additional work, but they were booked solid.
Walked to the small botanical gardens in Bayeux this morning. Mainly trees, but some spectacular examples. Including this unique weeping beech. It is classed as a national monument (natural) and needs a little help standing, as you can see from the poles and wires. Off to the Tapestry later, thought we would wait until the school parties had finished for the day.🤞

Sat outside in the sun eating an ice cream. All jobs done ready for our move tomorrow, we are heading for Lake Annecy but intend to overnight at Chambery so we arrive at Annecy early in the day. Forecast for the next week is 30c so being in the mountains might be nice.
We've enjoyed our week here and would recommend it to anyone coming this way. We had a lovely day out yesterday doing some of the hilltop medieval villages in the area.
Hope everyone else who are away or due to go are enjoying themselves.

I know you said before, but I have forgotten.......what exactly was the problem with it, what new part was it that they fitted?
Seems you are unlucky with it, there is not much to go wrong with them, our dealer's dad had the ame one as us, the Dometic 2200B , for many years and moved it from van to newer van several times.
That said, ours conked out after about 3 or 4 years, lost the coolant, and nobody could fix it, so in the end Dometic pid for us to have a new one fitted.
We now "exercise" it regularly to keep the seals in good order, something that was not in the manual.

I bought a personalised number plate. I know it's silly and makes the car look 16.5 years older than it it but I've always wanted one and I really don't care. 1 -
Similar presumably, except with the Dometic, it is a sealed system with apparently no filling point, plus nobody in UK, not .even Dometic, (according to themselves) holds a licence to handle the chemical used.
I reckoned at first they were trying to fob us off, but then they paid out for a complete new thing, so I don't really know why they would lie to us!
At least it is still working, and we have been glad of it on this trip.

thanks, the thing is the same letters (same order) are also available with an 03 ie AB02CDE which we have bought ( my wife's initials then mine then the last letter being our surname. AB03CDE is also going for our smaller car.

Arrived here at Chatsworth at about 2pm after a leisurely drive down from Grassington. And guess what .....No queues, no-one rushing round the site looking to bag pitches. Just a warm welcome from the wardens and a civilised look round to choose a pitch. Quick bite of lunch and then a walk past the house down to the single arched bridge at the end of the estate. Dogs fed and watered. Sun is beating down as I write this, bottle of the red stuff about to be opened.
Doesn't get much better than this!

We have seen very few Brits, mainly Dutch and German tourists with a handfull of Belgians, plus quite a few Italians in Switzerland, and Swiss in Italy.
Now having heavy rain here at Ossiachersee, after an hour or more of thunder in the distance.
New problem with caravan, only minor, the bathroom blind cassette was trying to fall off. Screws do not seem to hold in places. Have plugged the holes with wood and fitted slightly larger screws.
Had to take OH to see a doctor again this morning as her toes started getting worse again last night. Toe 3 was still swollen, but not sore, but both 2 and 3 were starting to get red and sore again. The big toe is still fine.
Doctor treated her with an "infusion", what we call a drip, which contained a cocktail of drugs. The surgery had a treatment suite with 3 beds and she had to lie there for about 45 minutes while the assistant hooked her up and ran the drugs in, all very carefully and efficiently done using a tiny needle normally used on babies, as she has very difficult veins.
The doctor also gave her Omeprazole tablets to take, to protect the stomach lining, and said to also take the remaining Diclofenac if she still has pain. She has an appointment to return at 11am tomorrow for a second round of treatment.
After a few hours the toes were already feeling quite a bit better, so I hope this will finally sort her out!

Washed the front of the caravan today......again! Yesterday, I pruned the tree that overhangs it, so I'm hoping there will be fewer 'deposits' on the caravan now.
Also cleaned the inside of the van, cleaned out the waste traps and put cleaning fluid down the sink wastes, cleaned the fridge, packed a few things ready for the next trip......then cut the grass. All this after a couple of hours of paperwork.
Then I sat in the sun reading for an hour

Sitting here feeling very down !!
Got back yesterday from a splendid 3 1/2 week Scottish tour with minimal IT involved. spent the afternoon & evening with the obvious -- unloading, sorting and starting on the laundry - too K*******d to do much else.
Came on here this morning & went to RSPB Loch Garten Website to discover Odin the male Osprey has been driven off apparently, EJ the female has now lost all three of her chicks and has to do fishing for herself now -- its a damned hard old world out there, no matter how we feel about it !
Despite the appalling news from Manchester, I hope you have all been enjoying the great spell of weather while I've een idling away Reet Ooop North

Me too, ABM. I've had to cancel some of the bookings for our Scottish tour because of having to get the aircon fixed.
It's back to work this evening after three days off. I'm finding working conditions and constant changes in rota difficult to cope with in this new job. It's not what I'm used to.

A day of superlatives today! We did our favourite Peak District walk from Monsal Head which must have amongst the best views in the area along the River Wye to Ashford in the Water which must be one of the prettiest villages and back for lunch to,what must be one of the best traditional village pubs in the whole country - The Packhorse at Little Longstone.
The views are the viaduct and valley at Monsal Head and then three from Ashford. (Don't do pictures of food, but the belly pork & black pudding was to die for!

Doing well in the Lakes. Lovely weather. Made use of the 77 bus from Keswick and enjoyed the wonderful scenery around Buttermere and the Honister Pass. Got off at Grange and joined the Cumbria Way. Then launch back to Keswick. Met a nice couple from Maryland, then kept meeting them! Nice to hear about their home land, they know a bit more about places over here now. They were off to Northumberland next.

We went to York this morning. Did a spot of shopping and had a wander round.
Then we went to Beningborough Hall (might have spelled that incorrectly) NT.
It was very warm and sunny and the gardens are really coming into bloom. A lovely day out.

Beautiful morning, warm and sunny.
Feeling bit better today after yesterday's awful events in Manchester. Had a long chat with youngest son last night so slightly reassured.
If the bomb had been during the day, he could have been injured, he walks through the arena foyer from the station every day to work and his office overlooks where it happened. His office has suffered some damaged so they have had to move to a different building. It has certainly changed what I worry about now, puts things into prospective. Thoughts again today with all the families involved.
No work until later so into town this morning, banking and hair cut, will look for some more wool too.

Last Friday we looked at the calendar and realised there was not much on this week, so we booked four nights at Englethwaite Hall. The caravan had been in a shed all winter and was covered in baked on dust. By Saturday morning it was cleaner than I've ever seen it (no thanks to me) and we were ready to load up. As it was the first time out since September it took a bit longer than usual.
The weather was what is called "changeable" - bright sun and heavy rain. And just as were about to unhitch the heavens opened. I took the dry option and sorted all the inside stuff while OH donned waterproofs and did the rest.
That was the hard part of the holiday - after that it was just sleeping, reading, eating and drinking. I know most people go away to explore new places, but we go away to do nothing.
As usual the best weather was the last day - the photo shows the empty pitches in the shade under the trees. For a non-facility site it was remarkably full.
Yesterday I sat outside all day while my husband went down to an important sale at Penrith Auction.
We had paid for last night, so stayed until about 5pm then packed up and it was back home to reality.
