Day off for me here, we were going to have a day out, but OH has hurt his back and is suffering, so we have postponed. Plenty to do at home meantime.

Sorry to hear about your illness David and hope you will improve your health over the coming months in time for your Spanish trip and take care.
Gone quite warm here for March and could reach 26C today and getting cooler by the weekend and more rain but we do need it, now able to collect water off my very small greenhouse OH has improvised with two black dustbins on blocks and looks good as not a lot of room for larger water butts.
Off to skip this afternoon with trailer and some food shopping and collect an order from local Gamm Vert which we ordered on line as a special offer and will fit in trailer ok.

Pottered in the garden as I had an extra green bin, in anticipation of garden help which hasn't happened this week as hes poorly 😢. Managed to fill it with less pressing jobs that I could do in the showers.
Another wet day here, apparently Cambridgeshire has had 3 times it's normal rain for March. We did need it but sufficient for now - thanks.

Lovely to hear from you AD. Glad to hear you are back at home and looking forward to a Spanish visit. Perhaps tbe temperature will be a little more comfortable in the late summer/ early autumn. In the meantime, take things easy and every good wish for your recovery.

we have crossed swords a few times on CT but i really do wish you a speedy recovery, I would also like to hear from you re travel insurance if you do make a trip to Spain, or i think Croatia was your other preferred destination.
My wife had a brain hemorrhage back in November whilst we were in Spain, fortunately we had some very good travel insurance, but am wondering now how the insurance will view our circumstances when we declare this on our insurance, which we will surely have to do if we venture over there again.

No firm help here R but-a friend of a friend has had a heart op recently & is due to fly out to the Algarve in April & the quote for insurance is more than double the cost of the whole break which has prompted them to cancel until late Summer to then try again.

Yup have heard of some horror stories, but technically we are still insured as we pay monthly thru Barclays Travel Pack, and as we made the claim thru them (£60k) approx, i would have expected them to have been in contact by now to advise that they would not cover my wife for whatever, or it will cost £££££ for any future cover, not too bothered after experiencing some horrendous overcrowding on some sites, fire at Bolnuevo wiping out a number of RV's seriously considering giving up on over there, and with temperatures already hitting the high 20's May/June could be too hot, but never say never

Don’t rely on them to contact you. I’m willing to believe there may be some rule that voids all cover if you don’t make a new statement of insurance mentioning the previous claim. Mistrustful of banks, me?. . .Oh yes you bet.

That thought was going through my head too as I read the posts. Don’t assume the insurer officially knows of the new status just because a claim was made. They’ll use any excuse to wriggle out of paying a claim in future. It’ll be buried in the T&Cs somewhere.

We have given up thinking of going 'over there' as our insurance was high enough already and since OH has a few more medical things that will need to be mentioned and I have had a minor stroke we are not going to bother. We enjoy our holidays here, though I do miss our annual winter jaunt to enjoy the sun in the Canary Islands.

almost ditto, however, was just watching Four in a Bed, sad i know, and one of the contestants has 4 glamping pods at £185 per night self catering ouchhhhh!!!!!, maybe keep caravan and use the clubs wonderful sites
Having said that will always keep the caravan as we use that as additional guest accommodation

I contacted my travel insurance as I'll be having an operation on my left eye to tighten up the muscles controlling it and as it would happen during the course of the current year of the insurance I thought I'd better mention it, a fairly standard 'cosmetic' operation that I had done when I was about 5 (and the consultant was amazed it lasted so long btw).
I was told, nicely, that I should have declared this previous eye operation from over 55 years ago when I took out the insurance! But the good news is that there's no extra premium for anything - assuming all goes well and cleared as such by the consultant.

River Breamish was restful, didn't do long walks but a few short ones thoughout the days!
Drove over the causeway to Holy Island, there was a bit of road kill just off the road which I wouldn't want to have hit .........It was an adult seal!
Later on checking my BP daily one day dropped like a stone then compared one arm BP with the other, a difference of 30, so stopped of at the chemist in Rothbury got them to check it I was fine so I have to buy a new Machine!
One of the night's it was absolutely clear "Oh the myriad stars I saw" took my breath away!
Home now washing machine in use!
