Thanks Nellie, it looked much narrower on the other photo, interesting read.

Brue, it is rather rough going underfoot, with upstanding stones, and quite narrow too, so I guess the army would have had to cross two by two at the most. I certainly had no intention of taking Flyte over it anyway.

Never a day's rest for you it seem, Kjell!! Hope you will be able to get some rest when all this work is complete.

Hope all went well with Helen's treatment today.

Goldie, best of luck with the sale of the cheese. I will keep an eye open for it.

Enjoy you time over in NI, millie.

Fingers crossed that all was fine following your appointment at the surgery, WN.

He weather has improved somewhat with even some late afternoon sunshine. We have left Clitheroe and moved on up to a CL we visit on a fairly regular basis, but not seen any Red Kites yet, just Redwings. Only on other M/H on the site but it doesn't appear to be occupied tonight.

Had second session of radiotherapy this afternoon,  2 done, 13 to go.

Treatment so far has been fine, although the journey out of Oxford during evening rush hour wasn't much fun, especially in the fog. Have been given an updated appointment list and one session has been cancelled,  they have added one to the end so my  last session is now the 22nd December.

Millie, Sorry to read the sad news about your friend, hope you enjoy your time in NI.

Goldie good luck with the Cheese, sounds delicious.

Wherenext,  glad you didn't miss the appointment, at least you were sent a text reminder. Like you I too feel a bit envious of all those away.☺ but our turn will come.

KjellNN,  good luck with all the building projects.

Sounds lovely Goldie.  Do you think (in the fullness of time) that it may be available at Low Sizergh Barn or Booths maybe?  Your savoury shortbread sounds delicious!  Any chance of you posting the recipe ....wink

Low Sizergh send some of their milk to make a Kendal range of cheeses, so may not take it. Though it is different to theirs. The retailing and distribution is down to the cheese maker - Martin Gott of St James Cheese. We just supply the raw ingredient!.It’s a small artisan business dealing with specialist cheese shops.

Early Xmas bonus for us here, we have won £225 on our Premium Bonds🤩 Get that thermostat whacked up🤣

Meantime, this had me in tears. I am decidedly sick of all the perfume ads, the stuffed table supermarket ads, etc….. Afraid this is much more appropriate this year…..

Oh my I had tears too. Like you I'm fed up with pushing ad's. Christmas seems to start earlier every year, bar humbug I hear lots thinking, but it seems to be hype, hype, hype my heart goes out to those facing eat or heat let alone added pressures.

Should you have any commercial radio or TV on every ad us pushing something, gifts, food, bingo, drink, gambling. I was in B&M the other day and their in store 'radio' was pushing lottery tickets Euro and UK 🤬

Our second trip to Grasmere this week but with all the family and a cold but sunny day. Best of all was the craft fair, now normally I avoid these but I wandered in and saw a stall where old style things from the past are made into table lights. There was a 1950s AVO multi meter (I didn't know this but was told) where the dials dim the light. There was also a box that was straight out of my 1970s school days with inputs and outputs for various volts. I couldn't decide which to buy so I bought both. I'd post a picture but I'm told Santa has taken them for now.

A fair day here in Wharfedale, but have had a shower of rain this evening. We had a couple of walks by Lindley Woods Reservoir and was surprised just how much the waters have risen since our last visit in August. The two photos  were taken from virtually the same spot...note large rock on left hand side of both!!

Interesting about the table lights👍 My OH made me a fantastic lamp out of a brass fire branch (that’s the delivery end of a fire hose), topped with a flambeau glass cover. I have a Top Hat, and a Bowler Hat that one day I might make into table lamps. There’s a wonderful company you can buy all the bits you need from online, I think their main work is with theatres and stage shows👍 Hope Father Christmas drops your presents off🤭

I usually make double of everything I bake - it doesn’t seem worth the hassle if it’s only going to last a day or two.

Its been a very grey, cold weekend here 🥶🥶

Yesterday afternoon we went to a Christmas Tree festival at a local, church, over 40 decorated trees 🎄 it was very difficult to choose which one to vote for.

Drove past the old Bladon Chains site on our way to a Christmas Market at Coombe Mill this morning,  didn't look like anything was happening there at the moment 🤔

One of the Market stalls also had a selection of lamps made from various bits of old equipment including a fire extinguisher 🧯

Goldie thank you for the biscuit recipe, will give them a try.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

Sunny but very cold here again, much the same as Saturday and Sunday.

The craft fair on Saturday was a little disappointing, only half the amount of sales as we had at the previous one, but still worthwhile.  Still have to unpack all the boxes as we cannot at present get to the cupboards where the items are kept, due to there being bathroom stuff awaiting installation in the way.

I have a couple of items to finish for the bathroom anyway, so keeping busy on those, and this evening I have to start painting the new ceiling......not looking forward to that!

Yesterday we picked up our painting stuff from DD and bought all the tile cement and grout requested by the builders, so I think we now have everything purchased.   Certainly the credit cards have taken a hit!

Bad start to the last couple of days

Because of the very cold weather forecast for this week decided to be prudent and drain the water systems in the camper no problem with trauma heater or the toilet waste tank

Problem found when went to empty fresh water tank as found that the drain tap was missing,it must have fallen off on the journey home last week and emptied  surprised

Contacted dealer this morning and they asked if I could bring it in straight away for them to see what could be done also mentioned slight oil leak from rocker? cover

They know I always have OH with me fitter came as soon as we arrived and sorted drain tap also advised he had  put on an extended flexible pipe to save reaching under to open drain tap

assistant. manager also advised the garage they use for base vehicle work would have a look at it if I took to them after we have completed our work

Garage boss came out had a look and called one of his mechanics who took one look and said it is a common fault with the two ltr Sevel  boxer diesel engine and sorted it in Just over 30 mins including checking that it was OK while running

It makes it so nice there are still those who go that bit further to help and OH was  allowedt to sit in passenger seat in both workshops while camper was being worked on

Ps neither fitter would accept any gratuities for their good work

Pps iluminated signs on entrances to our "City" advising gritting tonightsurprised

Progress Goldie! Hope everything goes to plan.

Talking of farming I was about to put some washing out when the muck spreader appeared over the hedge, so I abandoned that idea until tomorrow! wink

We had the grand opening of our Christmas street lights yesterday evening followed by a swift rush back to our homes for the football ⚽️

Good news Goldie and hope all goes well. I have memories of going up our local lane as a teenager and helping on local farm with milking the old style with just a couple of milking machines hard work but did get some pocket money.

A lovely sunny day here after a sharp frost, have not done much for a few days due to catching a cold (both of us) possibly from friends that we had a meal with friends last Monday as we have not been anywhere else, just fed up of coughing but now feeling better but again not going anywhere this week as stocked up at home thankfully,

Sounds like folk have been busy.

When a new hip is installed the worst thing he can do is not exercise , with my OH that has caused a lot of her problems, as she did not get the rehabilitation as she should have had while in hospital staff shortages did not helpand ticking of  boxes was even more of a problem

when she had her first op on the evening she dislocated her hip at home,  after two days in bed? I asked the surgeon?consultant? If she could get some exercise with me taking her with a walking frame , he said definitel,y it will help enormously,,so with the help of one of the students, I got her out of bed and we walked round the ward and even into the toilet she then sat in the bedside chair ,later that day the ward manager said I should not have taken OH for a walk? round the ward as I had not been trained and must let a physio take her first and if they agreed then I may take her she had not and was another two days before a physio came to see her, and it went from bad to worse and she ended up having to have a full replacement hip

now  she also cannot grip with her right hand because of the lack of previose physio so is unable to use any walking aids although she was able before

Sensible to take precautions Goldie. Hope the staff do the same.

Practice  Manageress  rang from surgery apologising for appointment  confusion.  Alls' well...etc.

More physio today plus visits tomorrow, Thursday  and Friday. Can't  complain about  service.

    Very grey and cold today.

Good news, Goldie, about the date for you OH's op. You do right avoiding unnecessary contact now, better to be safe than sorry.

Great service from both the dealer and the garage, JVB, it is good to read that there still such helpful people out there.

Hope the physiotherapy is helping, WN, and you are steadily getting back full use of your hand etc. Nice to read that your Practice Manager got in touch to apologise for the confusion.

Yesterday was a bit of a wash out, so only managed walks from the site, although we didn't really get wet on any of them. Today was a bit drier and did not have quite the same bite in the breeze. After restocking, before our next move, we had a couple of walks in The Chevin Forest Park.

    Goldie

Good to see that he won't have long to wait. I think you have mentioned that he has previously had a hip replaced? He will appreciate the restorative benefits of having his hip done. Once he is home you will have to encourage him to take things easy for a bit, if that will do any good!

Delighted to hear of your Lord & Master's  forthcoming operation Goldie  wink.

I mentioned some time ago that my nephew's wife was due for and has had a hip replacement operation at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Gobowen.

Well she has gone all through the training/fitness schedule as instructed and last week  { Hurrah, Hurrah } was allowed back onto her horse again  BUT NO JUMPING, riding smoothly and steadily only for a while !!  I sincerely hope that your Hubby gets as well and as swiftly as Pam did,  very best wishes for the rascal  .smile
