We are very lucky with our storage and have been there since 1995 when taking our van home was no longer an option due to access issues.

The site we use was a former dairy farm, we were their second customer, and they have changed from being a c&cc small site to a fully licensed site with storage as well.

We pay app £1 a day and the site is now run by the daughter and husband, ex D&C police so increased security has been provided, and we still get a Christmas card from her parents!

Once when cleaning the van prior to a trip abroad I looked up to see them approaching with a tray on which was cream tea-pot of tea, two scones , jam and clotted cream!

Not all storage is created equal.

The storage at Commons Wood has several L/Vs on the perimiter  ,that have roof covers to stop the roof getting covered in leaf staining and a clear panel on a couple for solar panels to keep working ,

As long standing customers ours is one of only 6 vans under cover out of 100.

Biggest problem, now addressed, was the nesting birds which always seemed to be right above my Heki!

Looked in on ours a week ago and it still looks fairly clean, despite not being touched since the end of September. It is Hymer grey / silver though, so might not be quite as clean as it looks.😂 Not a tree in sight at our storage, which helps.

We went for a walk at Clumber Park Yesterday. Plenty of folk about judging from the parked cars. However, they must have all headed for the lake, as in the other direction we only passed a few. Our route took us alongside the CAMC site. Looks as though the wardens have been busy getting it ready for the 12th. Grass looking very neat and fresh chippings on several of the hardstandings we could see.

Yes! And it's sunny at the moment.

Slightly relieved to hear the loud explosion  many of us heard yesterday was a meteor...slightly scary too! surprised

    Ow,Ow,Ow, Ow.

Full day in the garden, mostly extracting stuff as opposed to planting it. Hands feel like they belong to a 90 year old. Still it does look a bit tidier. Mrs WN did suggest the taking down of a wall and moving it inwards about 3 feet then having that spare area concreted to be able to take a Motorhome should we get one.😱

I blame it on the effect of the weedkiller she was using. I brought her inside. She seems to have recovered now.

Lovely day but clouded over now.

Just been reported on our local news that police have raided a "travellers?" site in Suffolk and recovered 83 dogs all supected to have been stolen from areas in the UK and are hoping to trace the owners ,just hope they are all chippedsurprised,

It has been quite a mild dry day ,very surprised that very few people about  ,Rosa has got the Hump as did not meet any of her "non socialising friends"

Have managed to get all the grassed areas cut and last (hopefully) of leaves cleared

Didn't know there were any still flying.  I thought their top speed was sub-sonic.

Another lovely day here, day off for us. We've been working hard so deserved itwink

Went for a cycle ride to the next village then down to the river, there is a gentle bend in the river and  lovely grassy banks along it. Its lovely and quiet and very pretty there. Cycle ride home all uphill phew needed a cuppa once home.

This afternoon we went for a drive into the hills, what a lovely time we had. Great daysmile

Caravan washing can wait until the middle of April, as we can't go anywhere until the 26th. If we do it too soon it will just get dirty again. Inside is all ready though. MH got a wash last week along with the cars.

These post about cleaning caravans and especially the roof, fill me with a feeling of inevitability.  I like it when it'sall been done, but the actual getting round to doing it is probably worse than the actual act of doing it....  cleaning the caravan in storeage means we have to take water, stepladders and all the other paraphernalia with us....  😃

Like CY I too sterilized the water system in the van over the last couple of days, as well as checking that the heating, pump, lighting etc were working fine. All ok so just have to ensure that the mover works and we'll then be ready for the off on the 14th.

My husband mowed the front lawn on Saturday - with a battery powered hand mower, them yesterday did the grass at the back of the house. It used to be fairly smooth (we've had croquet and tennis on it), but is now a bit churned up and rutted (escaping cows and the aftermath of tractors etc)

We had a walk round Nene Park this morning and came accross a flock of parakeets. Gosh they are noisy!

Were they enjoying the sunshine Millie, it's been lovely here today! wink

Several of our Blue tit boxes have now been "sold" to new owners. Spring is really in the air!

We're booked in for another NT garden ramble tomorrow and next week we're hopefully off to Abbotsbury sub Tropical gardens, trying to get a visit before the schools break up.

OH has been busy starting to lay some slabs (a job that's a year late....) after many misunderstandings along the way! laughing

Started out grey here, but sunny by lunch time, though still cold in the air.

Went down to DD to do some bits and pieces in the house,  and OH did laundry, dishwashing and taking the babe out in his pram to give DD time to catch up on financial and household things.

SIL was in school today, he seems worried about the Covid testing he has to do, we have not been told anything, so not sure what his problem is.

Thanks, millie. All seems to be healing up just fine. She has another visit to see the dentist on Wednesday and that should prove it it's ok or not.

We've not had the dubious pleasure of seeing any yet, but the way they are spreading it won't be long before they find their way up to the north west, I'm  sure.

Finally finished polishing and waxing the roof yesterday. Washed down the sides and cleaned all the windows. The original owner had the van "paintsealed" so just a bit of black streak remover and a cursory waxing too do on the sides.

A friend of mine lives near our town park where there are quite a few parakeets. She says that although they are very pretty they are are a pain as they knock on the windows and are very noisy especially at the crack of dawn 😳
