Very best wishes to Mrs Nellie. What a horrid experience. I do hope she is feeling a bit better today.
I am very envious of the WN ladies. I have another 4 weeks to wait until my hair appointment.

I'll be in pigtails by the time I get my appointment Millie but I have been promised a cancellation!
B2 it really is a small inheritance our daughter is receiving, so buying power is limited! Her main spending ambition is a triple wardrobe so that midddle grandson can clear everything off his bedroom floor. I expect she'll save the remainder for a rainy day. She doesn't own her home and lives in area where houses are expensive. She has sorted out her Aunty's failing health, dementia onset and affairs single handly and over the last year we've been her "back up" group on the phone. I expect it's a been a similar tale up and down the country.

} Six months approximately till the next Nursey Interview crops up and by then I hope, I did say hope, to be back in Medico's Good Books. and getting ready for all those celebrations in December
For all your kind help & assistance I thank you

Felt compelled to write to our Councillor yesterday and am pleased to say she has actioned 2 requests, nothing out of the ordinary already.
Her husband called around with some information this afternoon, so she'll be getting my vote as an Independent, who seem to work harder than political affiliated ones.
Day has finally decided to warm up, a bit too late.
Mrs WN did report that the poor hairdressers got some terrible abuse, mainly from elderly people who should know better, because firstly those complainers hadn't been treated a priority and secondly because there weren't enough "layabouts" of hairdressers in the shop, despite the hairdressers only being allowed a total of 6 people in, 3 customers and 3 hairdressers. It took an hour longer because these elderly complainers kept just walking into the shop expecting immediate service. Mrs WN not best pleased with them and felt the workers reacted admirably.

We have had to wait just over a month but today was Dad's funeral service. Obviously just a small number of close family, including a couple of cousins of his who I hadn't met since we were all children. Lovely weather and a nice service, a fitting way to remember him.
These flowers weren't done by a professional, but by his grandson's mother in law - we thought they were a match for anything a qualified florist might provide.

Moulsey beautiful flowers and I thoroughly agree on the standard of them.
I'm glad that you were able to give your dad a personal send off. A month's a long time to wait to say a final goodbye, but my friend had to wait 8 weeks, no PM to delay things. Sign of the times or living in a very populated area ๐ข๐ข.
I hope you and your family can begin to remember all the wonderful times you shared. May he Rest in Peace.

Yes it sounds as if you had a lovely send off to your dad, and I'm sure he would have approved and appreciated it all

It sounds as though you gave your Dad a wonderful send off Moulesy. I am so glad the weather smiled on you. The flowers are absolutely beautiful.

Kind thoughts to all your family M, you have had it very rough this year. The flowers are beautiful, lovely personal touch.

WN, we had a wonderful Independant councillor for many years. He always responded promptly when contacted and usually managed to sort out the problem. He often walked 'his patch' to see first hand if there were any obvious problems and to talk to residents. Sadly he retired a few years ago and both our local councillors are 'tied' to one or other of the main political parties. We dont get the same service at all.
That is absolutely disgraceful behaviour from the customers in the hairdressers. Those people should be ashamed of themselves.

Millie, we did have a problem a few years ago with trees belonging to an estate that were encroaching over our garden. The Estate employed a local Estate Land Management company that failed to respond to my requests for a visit to discuss work. I got in touch with the councillor, who paid a visit to see for herself and within 1 day the top man at the LEM arrived, agreed the work to be done which it was. It's good to see someone who carries through with their promise and who genuinely seems to care about her constituents. A rare thing these days.
The Hairdressing Salon owner did say she would be having a cull of certain clients. I'm just hoping she meant from her customer base and not something a bit more sinister, although Mrs WN did say she's not to be messed with.
Happy to say that I don't have any problems with my hairdresser.

Lovely day here today, so more time in the garden for me. OH spent the morning digging holes at the 'Men's Shed' orchard, they go down on Tuesdays and Thursdays, dig holes one day, plant trees the other.
This afternoon we both went down and planted daffodil and crocus's that I've been growing in pots over winter. Hopefully in the years to come they will spread and look nice, the bees from the hive will find them I'm sure.
CT, a number of years ago we found out that our neighbour was in a different band to us (lower) they had a conservatory, garage etc which we didn't have. We took the 'Money saving' experts advise and applied to the council to have our band looked at, long story short after some to and fro's we got our band dropped to a 'B' (they are not allowed to put up neighbours band) we got a cash payment as well as the monthly drop. We told our other neighbour who was in the same original band as us, she also got the cash payment and her band reduced.
Wills and POA, under lockdown we have taken the time out to set both of these up
just got to sort out funeral plans now.

Good to here that the service went off well, Moulesy and the flowers were beautiful. A sad day obviously, but at least some more relatives for you to remember from your childhood. Will be thinking of you and yours this weekend.

Thanks for those kind thoughts, WN, I thought you were a friend of mine!!

Thankfully all has settled down and she had a good night's sleep, with no bleeding.
She sends her thanks for all your good wishes, and appreciated the hug from the tda's.
B2, she had been offered the choice of root canal treatment or extraction a couple of weeks ago, as it was a capped tooth that was playing up, but she chose to have it out,,except the infection developed before the date for the extraction, so it turned into a emergency. The dentist was, able to drain it all out but it took a while for it to stop bleeding, However all is well now.

I'll second millie's comments. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time, M.

A good send off for your Dad Moulesy and beautiful flowers too.
Pleased to hear Nellie's OH is feeling better.
We've just had a terrible Zoom meeting with our gardening club, the first one was brilliant but tonight we had a speaker with nothing interesting to speak about and she had slow bandwidth which reduced her voice to a low pitched drawl....luckily we were all muted so she couldn't hear our comments!! (But video pictures painted a thousand words....
)
I now realise that anyone who has to do these Zoom meetings on a regular basis needs tender loving support to aid recovery!!

We have had 2 very sunny days, even quite warm too, and some good news from the FM the other day.........as DD has a child under the age of 1 year, grandparents are now permitted to visit to give support, so we have been able to help with laundry, cleaning and dishwashing to allow DD to catch up on some sleep.
OH has started taking Nathan out for long walks as he sleeps better with more fresh air due to having a stuffy nose. And I have started the joinery work in the bedroom that he will use soon. DD is hoping to get the builders in to repair her roof soon, so needs all the stored materials out of the way as the area to be repaired has to be emptied of all furniture, and there is only limited space to store things. Some stuff will have to be put out in the hall, the rest will be moved into the unaffected part of the lounge, and they will have to sit elsewhere for a few weeks.
Little Nathan has a terrible cold, in fact we all do. Callum has caught one off a child at nursery and kindly shared it with us. DD is in a bad way with a terrible cough, and has almost lost her voice, so between that and the children waking during the night at various times, she is sleep deprived. Today she had had no sleep after 3am, so when we arrived at 10.30am, as Nathan had just fallen asleep, she handed him over and went to bed, I think she slept for 4 hours.

Brilliant day in Stubbers, just looking out thru the conservatory window, the forsythia is gleaming bright yellow, the hyncinths are an array of colour, i plant out the ones we have indoors once they have gone over, we did have lots of camilia but the squirel ate the buds, most of the leaft buds on the shrubs have now popped open, going to rake over the grass today and spread some seed just to keep it up to par, everyday is a staycation day for us. Decorators have finished just waiting for the new blinds to arrive, bang goes my Spanish holiday money

Brue all our Museum Society Lectures have been via Zoom this season and some have been brilliant and some like your gardening club meeting have been truly awful. Giving a lecture via Zoom is not for the faint hearted

Well, it's our turn for a wedding anniversary, our second lockdown one so we're used to it...
it will be the usual dog walk, maybe the romantic ambience of a garden centre compost purchase and a take away.
๐๐๐(I did get some nice flowers.
)

I do like your new avatar picture rufs OH has been putting old photos on the computer and we have a few of an old springer with new puppy springer laying on top of the older dog taken 1995 gosh time flies.
Another chilly day here and had some rain overnight and not nice outside, just collected the post from our postbox and OH has bought me a newer star meteo small internal weather station as it has an extra day on it so he is just setting it up and our friends can have the old one as she has a basic one and not happy with it, this is very accurate as it receives its information by satellites and radio stations around France, he got it off our local Le boncoin website and an unwanted present never been opened and English person selling it cheap so all cleaned over now.
Just housework to do today and pack a bag as we are going upto friends tomorrow for a few diy chores and celebrate a late xmas with them, they will come here for Easter and bring their van as they are having a new Fosse Septique put in next month so van will stay here for about 6 weeks whilst everything is done so two vans here will look like a small CL ha ha.
Not good news for northern France as some areas go into lockdown for a month from midnight tonight so hopefully that will stop second home owners coming down here as schools will be open, this is what happens when folk go on snow holidays in the last school holidays.

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs brue. I hope you enjoy your trip to the garden centre.

"I do like your new avatar picture rufs OH has been putting old photos on the computer and we have a few of an old springer with new puppy springer laying on top of the older dog taken 1995 gosh time flies."
both dogs are rescue dogs, the older coming from Poland, lovely dog but due to some behavioral problems we suspect he did not have an easy early life, was malnorished when he arrived and now guards any food you give him like a hawk, but so soft otherwise, pup came from Eastern European family but living in the UK, took it, had it for 2 weeks hated it gave it up.
"Not good news for northern France as some areas go into lockdown for a month"
do hope you get this virus under control was watching the news at 1300hrs, does not look good, and France can still not come to grips with who should have the vaccine. In Hampshire we now have 116 areas with 3 or less new cases this week, proper proper staycation looking more than likely i.e. staying at home

Happy anniversary to the brue's. Enjoy your trip out.
We have brilliant sunshine and little or no breeze, but the air is cool, not what I was expecting, being where we are, from the forecast. Just spoken to son about an hour away, grey and damp but not raining with them, more what I was expecting. No complaints from me.
Apparently DIL threatening to give up work from Monday, but hell believe it when it happens ๐. New addition due in a couple of weeks and son on gardening leave until he starts his new job 1st or later depending on baby arrival, so will be nice to have a few days as a couple before the fun begins!
Dentist first thing, next 2 x 3 monthly appointments booked, that takes us to September ๐ฑ. Just a clean today, everything as pre-Covid just have to spit in plastic cup after rinsing.
Followed that with lovely dog walk still incredibly muddy as it rained very gently most of yesterday AGAIN. Clothes in the wash, towels already dry outside.
Aiming for a bit of time in the garden, but limited as still so wet. Hoping to sort our gardening tools out, there really is a limit to how many forks, spades, rakes, hoes etc one household needs! I think everytime someone passes away we acquire their stock too. I'm hoping the local Mencap group are still interested. The Joy's of fb groups, I must just check but I'm going to sort regardless ๐ค๐. I have so many heaps about the place it's more muddly than if things were still in cupboards drawers etc.
Whatever you spend your day doing enjoy it.
So many have mastered Zoom, we haven't attempted it.
Red kite it seems both France and Germany have increasing cases - I do hope our travel restrictions stay, sorry folks, to keep them where they are. A report on the radio thought lots more Brazil type which we dont want here until more folk vaccinated and adjustments to vaccine made ๐ฑ. Stay as safe as you can

OH received another Covid letter from HMG because hes vunerable. I think that's the 5th one ! One each time for lockdowns. This one is about returning to work. He's been retired for 13 years and received state pension for 4 of those. This one is 7.5 pages of typing, at least its double sided! Can't imagine how must it must cost to do, but still those 'youngsters' will pick up the bill along with all the Covid costs, poor devils.
But it does appear they seem to be serious about the current road map at least ๐
