Camping sites in France?

We have all the CC Europe camping site books from the caravan club, but most of the sites seem to be ones with swimming pools, clubs, bars etc.
We prefer quieter sites without all the bells and whistles as do not see any point in paying for something we will not use.
Are there any recommended camping books on France that list ordinary plain campsites or sites similar to CLs? Thanks.
