Dover Security Checks on the way out!!

Friends on their way to France reported this morning that at Dover, on the way out to France, they were stopped in a security check. Half the vehicles were being examined underneath and in the engine and boot compartments,
and the other half (their's included) were subject to 'a swab of the outside of the vehicle but no mirror underneath, nor engine compartment and boot search!!



This caused some delays, so if you've got a ferry booked they recommend allowing extra time, just in case.



Passport control didn't seem to be a problem, despite the new requirement for advance passenger information.
