I have mentioned before that we broke down in Germany and Saga recovered car and van to the UK.  Saga use the AA who in turn use ADAC etc. but the Saga policy is better than the AA one and the AA opeartions centre in Europe initially claimed that we were
not covered as our van was over 7 meters shipping length.  SInce I had checked this out when I bought the policy I was able to correct their mistake and they arranged full repatriation without any problem (BA to Heathrow, taxis etc.).

In the Telegraph money section on Saturday there was a similar story of somebody insured with Saga and his van was recovered to the UK but was damaged whilst in the garage overseas awaiting collection. Saga denied responsibility but eventually he got full
recompense because it was the AA Policy which excluded such damage liability whilst Saga included it.

It is generally accepted that RP provide very comprehensive cover (don't know because I haven't had to use it) but for ANY policy it is so important to read the small print particularly with regard to lengths, weights, age of vehicle etc.
