How expensive are tolls in France?

We're driving down to Lake Garda for a windsurfing event at Easter. I've seen there are a lot of 'toll-free' routes recommended, but I'm guessing there is a cost versus journey time trade off to be had.

Can anyone give a rough idea of how much the tolls would be on the quickest route, and how much time would be saved? I'll be in a long wheel based sprinter camper.
