Spain next week: Open sites en route.
Hello
As some of you will know from my partner's recent posts, we are off to Spain for the first time next week and plan to arrive via the A9 / AP7 through Perpignan. It is very exciting. We arrive in Calais next Thursday. Our plan was to amble through France
avoiding toll roads. Do members have any recommended routes where sites are open next week?
We had planned to go via Evreux and Dreux towards Chartres before stopping at Salbris for our first night. - but Salbris is shut!
Consequently we are looking for a site in the region of Salbris - Vierzon perhaps - and wonder if members have any alternative suggestions or experiences of staying there. There does appear to be an all year site at Dreux but we would like to get a little
further if possible.
Thereafter the plan was to go via the A71 and A75 cross the Millau viaduct and stay at either Lodeve or Clermont Herault. Again recommendations or alternative suggestions would be appreciated.
Another way is to go via Chalons en Champagne (first night) Macon (Second night) and then cross country to pick up the A75. Or are we best to forget about avoiding the tolls and just head down through Lyon and Valence on the A7 and pick up the A9 to take
us all the way into Spain? we've done this many times in the past.
One thing is certain, when we do eventually arrive in Spain, however we get there, it will be thanks to the members of the club who have shared their advice and experiences! It is very much appreciated. Thank you.
