Having tried several searches I have come up with this link. I suspect the forum is not up and running yet.

    David

Logged in and done a couple of posts, will be interesting how it developsCool

Well it just looks the same as CT at the moment as all I'm getting is an ERROR message.
YellPerhaps they're using the same IT guys as CC!! Undecided OR
perhaps it's been infected by some of the CT posters?

using it with no problems Cool

BB -I think you are reading to much into it. The post you quoted was clearly hearsay. The subjects in question referred to as members. I don't know about you but I think I would have a better idea if friends were telling porkies than strangers. As to burning
at the stake I'm pretty sure that was made illegal a few hundred years ago.

Why dont you ask 'fur ball' if he thought these people were liars?

i read his post in good faith, after all why should he (as well as these 'people') tell lies?

hence my comment to you (not MoulesyWink

I think you are over reacting somewhat. I am certainly not saying fur ball is telling lies, as you imply. Hearsay is simply that, hearsay. That is why it would not be accepted as evidence without further consideration.

Well that's strange as I've just got this message when trying to access Hard Standing Pitch Carge Post :-

Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request.

"....... a very aggressive couple told us that they always used that pitch and their friends would use the one next door when they arrived.  I refused to move and the lady, using language that would have made a fish wife blush, told us that they booked every w/e during the season but cancelled if the weather was not going to be good.  We were spoiling their w/e ............"

I find it hard to decide which is more shocking: the fact that they booked every weekend and cancelled willy nilly or the fact that they expected "their" pitch to be available for them at all times.

If true this is in the realms of staggering arrogance, greed and self interest.

I am still not convinced about blockers though,. This is anecdotal and doesn't really prove that it is widespread. However, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that many book in a casual manner without being certain that they will be able to make the dates they have chosen.

I expect we've all got some "story" about an encounter on a site. Do you want to hear mine....?! Tongue Out

Out of interest I've just logged on to the new C & CC forum after getting errors earlier on and it's now working. Don't think I'll be joining, this one is enough for me.Smile

The clubs computer should be able to pick up anyone block booking. Maybe an answer would be to limit bookings on any site to say four.

I'm using Chrome Nellie and for some reason the error messages have now cleared and the site is working. There isn't a lot on it.

their technical advice section recommends clearing cache....i did this on safari a while back and it works fine.

bound to be a bit bare at the moment, each section is brand new...

I can get on now without problems using Chrome. I suspect most of the posts are of the get the forum started posts or just testing posts. We did a similar thing here on Club Together before it was officially launched.

Do you actually join,or just log in using the normal Club log in? Unless I have not yet been able to work it out you don't seem to be able to use a forum name, or have I got that wrong.

I didn't realize that when I posted that my comments were only valid if they stood up in a court of law! I thought we were just engaging in a friendly discussion. I never said it was widespread and don't believe it is but in all walks of life you get a minority
of people abuse the systems be it benefits, legal or caravan bookings. People on here have even said that its not against the rules and there right its not but I do believe its not in the spirit of things. As for why they told me what they did, maybe its because
I have a trusting face, maybe I hypnotized them, maybe I beat a confession(that's not allowed in a court of law either) maybe its because I work with them, I'll let you the jury decide the truth because to be quite honest I don't like it being implied I'm
a liar and I think my time on this forum has come to a natural conclusion, thanks for all those who have helped me. Happy Xmas and new year to you all.

I'm sorry you feel that way fur ball. As I stated in my post above nobody is implying you are a liar. I have no doubt your post accurately reported what you were told and of course your points are valid. However you are reporting facts that were told to
you by somebody else. Surely it is equally the case that others may put less weight on this sort of information than if it were first hand. As I said there was certainly no intention to offend and as this appears the consequence I appologise.

If the c&cc want forum users to use their own name and details instead of a forum name and avatar they will not attract many users.  Bearing in mind that all forums suffer from a considerable lack of security and attract many people with a high level of
IT skills it is much more secure to use a forum name.   The forum administration will know each members details but that should not be allowed on open forum.

I am not sure any of us can be certain we will be able to make the dates chosen up to a year in advance. Which as you correctly say is the only way to get a pitch on the honey pot sites. We certainly have every intention of taking up our bookings, as in
my opinion do the vast majority of those who book on booking day. To bring it back onto topic I notice the CC charge a £25 deposit. I can see this would stop block booking of weekends for at a whim cancelling, if this indeed happens on any large scale. However,
I can't see it having any great impact on those who want the weekends, whatever the weather, which again in my opinion are the majority.

As it's members only any troll like posts etc will be more trackable. The C & CC have always pre-moderated reviews, so I hope they will have a grip on any inappropriate posts.

Incidentally if Furball is still looking at the forum I do hope we haven't lost you, it has been nice to see new members joining in.

Yes you certainly would not want to advertise you were away from home. Particularly if at a later date it is opened up as read only to all.
