Lots of news from everyone, the bp stops the flow a bit. Hope B2 will find a way round, not easy when family are far away and others are nearer.
TG I have a friend from Malta, she waits for the cheapest flights and travels light, keeping clothes over there to save on travel weights etc.
We have a family wedding at the end of the week, we couldn't get help with the dogs so will have to drive up to the Midlands for a day. The wedding is partly in a church and partly in a camping field...do I wear a hat with my jeans!?

Delighted to hear that you Kidz are having such fun going to / planning to go / planning to stay in the rest of the world. Just remember ==> Home is where
you are happy !One question B2, that nice meal with the family -- was it some of that delicious lamb imported from the 'Old Country' ??
giggle giggle

A bit of a dilemma Millie.. (Glad you enjoyed Houghton Mill.)
In between frittering time on here I've been quite industrious making tomato chutney from a BBC recipe, so far so good, must keep an eye on it as it burns so easily. Results to be tasted later.

Lovely day today, OH managed to get another side of the big hedges done this morning. Then a spot of lunch, showers and into town for our dental appointments, neither need anything doing so all's good. Garden is starting to look good now its not so wet and
plants are responding to the dry weather giving me ideas that I need more.Malta has been one of our favourites as we have done quite a bit of diving there, love it September/October when the water is nice and warm. Hopefully once they get settled we will be paying a visit. They have never been to Malta so its a big leap of faith
that they are going to like it. Both of them are forces children (army brats) so are used to moving and making new friends.Brue, definitely a hat with the jeans

Ah - sitting on the beach in the gentle light of the sunset. Dog is in the water, grandchildren throwing stones, OH and daughter gone for a walk. Peace at last!
I did ask the wardens to put daughter and kids at the other end of the site - blast - he insisted we were on adjacent pitches!

Yesterday was dull and a bit cooler, so we went to Witley Court, an E/H property. Well worth a visit to anyone who's not been there before, and don't to forget to go into the church..
Today was a lot warmer, about 23C, and bright sunshine. A couple of walks round the farm's fields before going out for a really nice lunchtime meal with our son and his partner at the Crown & Sandys in Ombersley. Lazy afternoon and evening at the van. Red
sky now promises good weather again tomorrow.0 -
The Dogs Trust had a stand in York today.......so tempting!
Go for it Ian, you won't regret it!

That’s a nice picture you’ve painted RF and proof that the wardens have a sense of humour.

Interesting day, got in the car this morning, turned the ignition and ..... nothing! Luckily we live on a slope and the car
was facing downhill, so quick roll and bump start. Went to collect the replacement shelf part for caravan fridge, interesting chat with our service engineer about un roadworthy caravans. Also which vans he considered were a good/bad buy.Car wouldnt't start again so another bump start collected new battery on way home which OH fitted, he said old battery was 9 years old, so
can't complain. My boss is on holiday, so am also looking after the rabbit and feeding the fish! Don't remember it being in my job description! Oh
well at least the weather's great!0 -

Trouble is, we've booked three weeks in Madeira in March so such things would have to come to an end.......decisions, decisions.......
Oh well, after March then Ian!

Certainly better weather today, though not as sunny as I had expected. Stayed dry with quite a bit of cloud, so ideal painting weather. Both garage doors now completed, so it will be back to the balcony posts tomorrow.
Reply from AlKo regarding my broken bolt in the caravan hitch, asking for photos which I duly provided. They quickly came back with part numbers but advised that they do not sell these parts to the public and to contact a "service centre"
E mailed Towitall, bolts are inexpensive, postage costs 3 times as much, but they have none in stock and estimate 20 days for delivery from AlKo.
Then contacted our dealer to discuss, they also requested photos then replied they had none in stock but would check with AlKo. AlKo apparently do not have any either, estimate they might be back in stock in 16 days.
Why is it so difficult to get a simple spare part?!
Have now requested dealer to order 2 bolts and nuts from AlKo and ask if they can send them directly to me.
So...we should have been going away 3 weeks today, now looking very unlikely, so will need to cancel all our bookings and make a new plan
Have cut away the A-frame cover so now have a better view of the "leaning jockey wheel" problem. Looks like a few shims and a new securing screw in thing should improve things. Will tackle that later, the screw in securing thing is readily available apparently.
It's enough to make me feel a MH may indeed be a good idea!

Thanks for your good wishes. Good luck to your son and family tammygirl, I'm sure they'll soon settle, and you'll be visiting. As milliehull says, still a plane trip - but at least in an emergency you could arrive in the same day.
ABM yes home is where you're happy, trouble is can we both places!!!! Still have my mum in her eighties an elderly uncle plus another aunt a brother and our son. No need for decisions yet - need to do research and find employment to fund airfare for next
trip. Might've long might be short might be six months LOL.Brue dressing for wedding always a dilemma yours sounds worse . We would happily have looked after your dog if we were in UK.
Baby had first injections yesterday and very unsettled with rotovirus one, however, back to herself this morning. We babysitting baby as eldest at kibdy and daughteriffvery soon for massage.

It was a quiet day. We spent most of the afternoon on site in our relaxers refreshing ourselves with diet coke from the fridge and Magnum icecream.
We went to Tesco pharmacy to collect my prescription and bought some more icecream to go into the freezer.
Brilliant sunshine all day. In the evening we spent some time on the beach next to the pier. The tide was in. Plenty of blue sea and blue sky and lovely sunset.

brue: Our eldest son and family have just been down that way for a week and absolutely loved it, especially West Bay. They had wonderful weather and said the only downside was the parking - v. expensive.
I have decided that some of the ironing can wait until another day as I want to sit in the garden and make the most of the lovely weather.
Our daughter and family are staying with youngest son and family in N.Ireland and have send photos of them on the beach and in the sea (!!) in brilliant sunshine.

I was looking at sites and cls last night in Dorset, I was thinking it would be a good area for an autumn break. Could remember some lovely family holidays in and around West Bay.
