I reckon there are some of those who have been on this forum for a long time who might be expecting a comment from me!!!  Several know that I wear sandals all the year round.... and I generally wear socks when I wear long trousers.  For the record, I very
rarely wear socks with shorts, but I only tend to wear shorts while we're on holiday in the van, 'in climates that suit'.

Do you wear your sandals with your bow tie and DJ? Black patent ones I can imagine.

JV, 'my point' is-it is impossible to put weight on if the calories being used exceeds the calories consumed. All it needs is a bit of thought to understand. PS-my post was an attempt to simplify weight gain/loss not a personal attack.

Surely the idea of sandals is to let fresh air get to ones feet.

Unfortunately that involves peoples' feet getting getting to everyone's fresh air.

Actually, I did once!!  I was going to a concert - fortunately it was only a very small concert when I was conducting one of my choirs.  I went in dress suit and bow tie and I had intended changing my sandals for shoes just before the concert.  When I came to look for my shoes I realised I had left them at home.  To far to go back and fetch them.... it just had to be done...  Laughing

But David......the main point is - do you wear the dreaded 'Dork shorts'?

I wear them Ian, most of the time in fact and I'm proud of it. I have about 9 pairs of the things, mostly in denim. They keep me cool, many have extra side pockets for my phone or tools when doing a spot of DIY, and I don't look like a 9 year old schoolboy
or a 'sporty person' that never does sport.

You keep on with your view of them Ian, it means you'll never experience the pure pleasure of wearing them and they'll be more left in the world for me to wear. It also does mean however, that you'll never stop me on site to chat

I can 'easily' fit into a 34 waist but always buy a 36 for 'comfort'

What a great forum this is, it’s full of fashion tips and you get a fascinating insight into fellow member’s diets and even their waist sizes.UndecidedEmbarassed

Maybe as we are discussing shorts an inside leg measurement would be more appropriate.Happy

You put me in mind of a chap who inadvertently came to work wearing odd shoes. Everyone knew within minutes but no one said a word. To this day, I think that he believed he'd got away with it. But we, and now CT knew better.

Back in the days of the 'winter of discontent' we had a power cut just as I was getting dressed for work. Power came back on shortly after arriving at the office with one black and one brown shoe.

You must be getting me confused with someone else R2B.Wink

My inside leg is 33 inches but I usually have to buy 34, 32 won’t do, I can’t stand trousers that are too short.Cool

They’ve been around in various fashions for decades: capris were popularized in the 1950s and again in the 1990s/2000s, especially for women. For men, they show up more in sporty or casual contexts, sometimes marketed as “three-quarter cargo pants” or “pedal pushers.” The practical idea is that they’re cooler than trousers in warm weather but offer more coverage than shorts—useful for cycling, hiking, or just casual wear. https://leveret.com

Thought one……….a provocative post, back in 2016.

Thought two……….check the profile🤭 do we have a doppelgänger.

Thought three…….English as a first language dodgy. Either that or a very fat typing finger

    Thought four……….possible mischief afoot
