Be careful where you use your remote locking
We've travelled to mainland europe with tents, caravans and laterly motorhomes for decades without any vehicle security issues but this year our vehicle locking system was "cloned" when we were visiting a supermarket carpark in Italy. My wife's handbag was
stolen but it appears the theves were in a hurry and it could have been a lot worse, there was no money in the handbag. Our passports and vehicle documents etc. were in a separate bag but were not taken. When you use your remote locking feature its possible
for the thieves to measure and record the locking signal frequency and to create a cloned radio signal to unlock the vehicle. The cloning system is becoming widespread across europe, including the UK. The solution is to use a key to lock (and unlock) your
vehicle in all locations where security can be compromised.
