Where are all the Brits ?
When we come to France it is usually this time of the year, mid June to earlyish July and we normally see quite a lot of British cars and hear a lot of English being spoken in towns and tourist hot spots. This year there seems to be very few. On the site
at Turckheim where we are I think there is now only a total of three UK outfits, there never being more than about 10 in the ten days that we have been here. Even the ferry across had very few caravans and that was a Sunday morning. It seems very odd especially
with the Euro exchange rate being so much in our favour at the moment.
Incidentally, I can highly recommend Camping Le Medieval at Turckheim Near Colmar. It's a lovely site, superb sanitary facilities, good sized pitches, free excellent site-wide wifi, easy access and only a five minute walk into the very picturesque town.
Although ACSI finishes next weekend the high season prices look very reasonable and now that many of our friends from Holland and Germany seem to be heading home, there should be lots of pitches available.
