Write your comments here...I make a point of not going to sites, CL or commercial that charge for dogs, unless of course they supply amenities for dogs,  wash down showers, adventure parks etc.,

We use cl's as we find them quieter.  Our dog is quite nervous and wouldn't settle with children playing outside.  We have only encountered children once on a cl. On that occasion they were out playing at 8am. Quite understandable with the weather and very healthy.  However, they did wake us up. If there were more children on cls we would definitely search for adult only. Not because we dont like children but becuse we have different requirements to young families. As it is surely the cl network caters for everyone, some are AO some are no dogs. Surely havong the choice is a positive.

Cl's are great, there are many more who accept families than AO.  Gives everybody a great choice of locations.

We were on a site in Cheshire a few years ago. It was a really large field and we were in one corner, the only caravan on the site. A couple days of after we arrived another van pitched up as far away from us as it was possible to be. The couple had two
grandchildren with them who spent most of the time playing football. They were very considerate towards their grandparents as they played the entire time beside our caravan. Response from the adults when we asked if the children could play near their van is
unprintable. That is why we prefer adult only sites. I just wish there were more.

Maybe the children prefered to be as far away from these grandparents as possible!  They possibly thought YOU looked friendly and were hoping that you might come out and play with themWinking

Everything else being equal, I would however choose an AO site though......so as to leave space available on other sites for those with childrenLaughing

I wonder what the legal position would be if a person was staying on an Adult Only site (not necesarily one of our Club's) because of a Court Order banning them from having contact with children, and some rule flouter turned up with children in tow.  I would
hope the rule bender would be seen as in contempt of court.

Write your comments here...despite a dislike of children, I don't think I'd want to share a site with someone with a Court order banning them from contact with children

Having said that, you could entertain yourself tarring and feathering them

How would any one know if a caravanner had a banning order, it's not as if they wear them like a badge, is it?

The Club is a wide church and its strength is in its ability to cater for most tasts.  Now we have no less than seven Grandchildren, and we love em all. Indeed the DCOS is almost permanently engaged in looking after one or some of them.

We quite often end up at Longlete with a couple of them!  BUT we rely on the fact that some CL's are Adults Only.  The ability to get away from Children- just for a short time is sheer bliss.

Not only that, but last year we invested practically all our savings in a new caravan. We realise that it will be our last, and we wnt to preserve its dent free condition for as long as we can. Cars are relatively easy on which to repair small dents etc, but caravans are not only very easy to dent, but also very hard to repair cheaply.  Another reason to prefer Adults only sites.

With seven lovely Grandkids we are not children hating Ogres, but we do love, and yes! -  Feel entitled to a bit of peace & quiet!

We are a retired couple but will not stay on any sites that advertise as 'adult only'.    We think it goes against the whole ethos of camping and caravanning holidays and deprives families of the chance to enjoy the pleasures of caravanning
and camping.  That in the long term is not good for the Club either.  (At the risk of generating comments from those who like such sites, we also find that such 'adult only' sites can be very sterile and more like mediocre

Surely there are many more "Family" CL's than adults only. At least let us "adult only" fans have a few sites where we can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside without the noise of children in the back ground.

the thing for us is choice and variety, sometime we choose family sites, at others, adult only, we like both when we choose according to our needs and requirements. Heaven help us that all sites everywhere are reduced to the common commercial denominator!
That's why we like the club, no deposits, no minimum nights, warden discretion re. departures when circumstances allow etc, etc. Long live the differences!
