Spanish Sites Full! Help!

We've stopped overnight at Moncofa on our route south. We were heading for Javea tomorrow for a week's stay: we've just had word from a friend down there that the site is full and has been since Xmas!

Every other year we've just turned up and had the pick of vacant pitches: something has changed. The 'word' is also that other sites south of Javea are full as well.
