21 day rule

when we stayed nine weeks at the site in the south of France, it was part of a 16 weeks tour.....
we spent three weeks bumbling around heading south with only one specific stop in mind, where we spent 4 days, so we had plenty of other stops and visits prior to arriving at the coast.
the site/location was exactly what we wanted and felt that we couldnt better it by moving on....
eventually we did, taking the remaining 4 weeks to weave back to Cherburg and making a couple of other 5 day stops on the way.
it would have been gutting to have been told we had breached some 'rule' after 21 days and had to move on.....
re, club sites, not had the inclination to be in one place for anything approaching that length of time......around 4 or 5 days is sufficient and then try somewhere else....

Returning tothe original question I think you will find the 21 days on 21days away rule applies specifically to the London area sites- I know it applies to Wyatts Covert for example. The reason is to stop Lodnon workers booking up all the Lodnon sites for
residential use.0 -
So here we have an organisation (CC) applying differing Regulation to suit the differing circumstances on a Localised Basis.
Now’t wrong with that IMO.
or maybe not.
or may be they are as it seems to be 21on 2off or 21on 21off depending on Local Circumstances . again.

I refer you back to JCBx4 at the foot of page 1. We are dealing with the law here not just a club rule.
I have not actually read the Act & Section of the law itself, but from memory I think it is a 28 day maximum subject to local arrangements which may vary from Local authority to Local Authority.
If that is indeed the case it is understandable that the CC should stipulate a lower limit so that it might be extended over the entire network.
The people that set these rules were not "Numpties" as someone suggested, but responsible Civil Servants attempting to hand down guidance to local Authorities responsible for controling the indescriminate setting up of permanent and semi permanent camp sites.

You could not have put this better and I am totally with you on this one.

I would think the 28 days limit is to prevent sites being used for residential purposes. You can however site the caravan fo whole seasons or even all year on some sites although it may be they limit actual useage in the rules to overcome the legal limit.
I am still not clear though why the club use 21 days as the maximum stay.0 -
Hi everyone,
The 21 day rule is to comply with our touring site license which restricts anyone from staying on a touring site that are not part of the site operating team.

Clearly they DO have different licences and terms.

See here for the C&CC. It does have a different policy, including 28 day stays and then 24 hours off the site. But it also says this can be changed at their discretion due to different
policies on some sites, eg minimum stays. Apart from Licencing Conditions the clubs can also operate their own policies via their terms and conditions etc.0 -
either way if you think the 21 rule doesn't suit you or causes probelms for you, then perhaps don't join/re join or go to club sites?

Rochelle had told us it's to comply with the licensing terms. What's to debate?

Generally, across the country, the planning / site licence will stipulate 28 days. I still suspect that CC Ltd has yet again made up its own "rule", as they tend to do in so many things.
Probably they have one site where the licence is for 21 days, and rather than confuse the stupid membership, for that is how they seem to think of us, they have gone to for the lowest common denominator.
...They are probably not far short with what you say about members, with some of the posts that appear on here at times
