One of the joys of travelling is the chance to encounter wildlife in its natural setting and for many, those moments become the real highlights of a trip. Whether it’s spotting the Big Five in Southern Africa, watching whales off the coast of New Zealand, or catching sight of bears in Canada or the USA, the world has some…
April starts the season of 'Osprey hunting' for me . So off to RSPB Loch Garten, on-line of course, and the sites up, just about, but no Ospreys as yet. Anyone watching the latest series? Brilliant presenters bringing new and interesting facts to even the seasoned nature lovers amongst us. Interesting tonight was the piece on moorland restoration. Love it!

Last years trip to Scotland and a visit to the west coast rainforests was a fabulous experience and one I would recommend, so much nature witnessed and the return of some species in these now protected areas are flourishing. We need more of…
For about the fourth year in a row we have a clever neighbourhood crow. Whenever the weather gets very dry he visits the bird bath in our garden and brings with him half a slice of bread which he dunks in the water. Whether it's for young ones I don't know but he carries most of it off again when suitably softened.
