I am sure there are others like us, who still have parts of the UK to explore, but are not sure which are the must see, must do, give it a try type of things to visit while on a holiday in a particular area. My home area is South Yorkshire, which like a lot of other places, has seen tremendous change down the decades. If I…
Just attempted to amend a booking on line but when the new outstanding balance appeared it did not calculate my original deposit of £20.00 but instead only deducted £5.00. I had to ring the call centre to get the balance corrected. "I'll flag it up" said the call handler. If the balance had been a greater amount it could…
In the past several years we have always booked Pembrey Country Park site in the autumn and liked the fact that it stayed open until the first week in January each year so it was possible to spend New Year there too. Sadly, this year the site is closing at the end of October and not reopening until March. This is such a…
For anyone with fond memories of Marazion/Threeways. we called at the site a couple of days ago. The new owners have negotiated a ten year lease from St Aubyn Estates. The site looks very tidy and smart. It now has portakabin style toilets and showers. The wardens seem very welcoming. And, it’s open ALL YEAR at £20/£25…
My wife would like to go to Cornwall, she’s never been there and I haven’t been there for 30 years. We thought it might be nice in June next year. So much I see about the place is that it’s severely anti-tourist. Is that true? Are the local people very hostile to incomers, even if they’re only there for a couple of weeks?…
I often complain at the unkempt nature of French sites in September, long grass, uncut hedges and an end of season feel. Returning to Black Horse Folkstone, on what in my opinion should be a showcase site for visiting Europeans, I found long grass, pitches looking scruffy and I suppose a “relaxed mowing” regime. Is this…
C&CC has announced the closure of its Slindon and Minehead sites so CAMC is not alone in closing sites where income doesn't warrant further expenditure. The same message appears on both site web pages.
I am finding actual club pitch prices way too high and unjustified. The club use the excuse that electricity costs are high. This does not stack up when other privately owned parks offering equal quality and facilities for much less. I personally am no longer using club sites as I feel I am being overcharged. The whole…
Looking at the booking costs for no-facility sites such as St Agnes or Stover the nightly cost of having a second person on the pitch seems to be about £7. Given that the only additional cost for a second person would be for the amount of water they might use £7 seems rather a lot. Or am I missing something ?
Yet another suggested aires in UK comes under scrutiny from locals. Why are we so different to France? https://grimsbynews.blogspot.com/?fbclid=IwY2xjawFlQNRleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHQ6vdyTb1K1Ytyj200JqZkhwHAUeRvs5eNZmDxHVcyekR5Tke1UCvD23_w_aem_laEOmJj8znRN_zk9TmXxOQ
