Hello I’ve just bought a camper van which has a solar panel fitted. I was led to believe that the solar panel would keep my fridge going for a couple of days but I seem to be only getting one day max out of the battery.. The solar panel is 100watt and the fridge specs say it takes 5amps (but I’m assuming this is only when…
Hi, we are getting our first motorhome next week and really looking forward to it. The MTPLM for the van we are getting has been rated in 2022 as 3650kg (in previous years it was 3500kg). It's a 4 berth van but only myself and my wife will be using it, we're not putting bikes on or anything like that and I think it is…
Hi, we are novices having bought first Motorhome 2 months ago. It’s an Elddis Autoquest 130 (2010). Does anyone know if the alarm system drains the engine battery. If so can it be disabled. Something is draining the battery when we are not using the MH. We have just bought a new battery to be sure its not an issue there.…
Hi all - Hope this is the right place to post this, couldn't see a better alternative. I'm not new to this lifestyle, as my wife and I used to own a campervan a few years ago which we used on several trips around the UK. But last year like many others I've started converting my own campervan with a plan to use it for a…

Hi All, This topic might have already been spoken about so I do apologies! Toured a lot with my parents before flying the nest 10 years ago! Now looking to get back into it myself with my misses and dogs, i am looking at a Fendt Platin 700, what is concerning me its the length for towing in the UK. Does anyone else on here…
What do people generally do in the event of tyre punctures? Our caravan doesn't have a spare wheel so I'm not sure what we would do if a tyre got damaged and deflated. Do people generally buy a spare wheel and carry it on board? I don't even have any means to jack up the van to replace the wheel.
According to our Thetford toilet cassette manual, we need special toilet paper for use with it. We haven't been able to get hold of this. Is it ok to use the normal paper, or will it cause problems?
When we collected our caravan, the dealer explained that it was important to drain all the water out of the system before the winter period. This is to avoid water freezing in the pipes or boiler and causing damage. So we could have booked a trip in the last couple of weeks, and been on a site with our water fully…
We've been preparing for our first trip in the caravan today by testing out the water and heating systems. I didn't switch on the gas, just used the mains hook up to power the boiler, which is a Truma combi. Just a question of how long it normally takes to heat up. I left it on for 15 mins, conscious of not using too much…
