Re: Where to visit Part 1: Caen - Perpignan - Our Maiden Tour
In that case you might like to make use of Aires. I can thoroughly recommend those of the camping car park group.
Most have 6 Amp EHU and are open all year.

You can also use such web sites and Apps of Search4Sites and ACSI to check opening times and read the reviews of sites you may wish to stop over at. Going in the Spring you may well find it is worth while buying the ACSI discount card.
It is a long time since I stayed in the Perpignan area, I generally prefer to go just across the boarder into Spain but when I have the last site I used was Camping Le Brasilia right on the beach. Just across the boarder there are plenty of sites in the Bay of Roses, I can recommend is Camping Las Dunas. Further down the coast near Estartit is Camping El Delfin Verde, a top class site with all facilities and again on the beach. I used to love this site but it has gone very up market and can be very busy at weekends and at peak times and is not cheap. In early season it may well be fine.
Enjoy your first trip.

Re: EV Charging while towing?
Kevin
Welcome to the forum. We have a member called Chocolate Trees who has posted a lot of useful information about towing with and electric car and recharging on service stations. I can't quite find the link but I am sure someone will. You could also check out Andrew Ditton's YouTube Channel as he tows with an electric car and again answers the questions you ask.

Re: What are you all up to
Re the photo above - turns out the all-weather lifeboat was called to assist a broken down fishing boat about 10 miles off Spurn point and had to tow it into Grimsby before returning to station. The 'new' lifeboat station is just down the prom next to the Spa (where the old boating lake used to be - for those that know Brid) - must be quite a sight watching that thing trundling down the prom with the lifeboat on the trailer - and then onto the beach for launching!
Re: What are you all up to
I have just seen your post about your relative's accident. My car was driven into last April by a lady who admitted liablity right away. No-ne was hurt in the accident just the cars. Her insurance company (Arriva) arranged a repair with a local company and within an hour after it was booked in for the repair, I received a phone call about the accident, which I realised was from an ambulance chasing tout trying to persuade me to contact a solicitor who he was recommending to claim personal injury. He was not pleased when I told him I realised what he was and demanded to know who had given him my number. He was so hard faced that he tried to infer that I was in the wrong for asking him questions, then put the phone down! I received another similar call a week or so later from someone else. I assume that it was someone from the car repair company who passed on my name and phone number, but it should be illegal for solicitors to pay people to pester the public to make false claims, which is perhaps what happened to the woman who had the accident with your daughter's OH.
France Virgins
We are planning to travel to Normandy, Loire Valley & Brittany regions of France late May 2016.
we would like some advice & recommendations of sites to stay.
we are a couple with no children, animals & tour with our caravan.
we very much like the caravan club standards & have looked on the cc site but unable to decide which site would best suit our needs. We enjoy quiet sites & are looking for such sites with cycling routes & local towns, perhaps within walking distance. We
don' t need entertainment as we enjoy good food, wine & historical sights of interest. We would appreciate any recommendations.
Re: What are you all up to
Happy New Year to everyone. Sorry to hear your news Kj @KjellNN- hope you're back home soon and on the mend. Must have been pretty grim being in hospital over Christmas - here's to a speedy recovery.
Has anyone else noticed - the date of posting is now only showing the month and the year? Makes following what's happening a bit difficult. Perhaps @Rowena can flag this up?
We didn't get the winds anywhere as near as strong as they were forecast (makes a change!) but after a half decent day, yesterday, we've now reverted to the usual grey, dull overcast stuff we seem to have had for ages.
Had a productive morning - managed to repair a broken lug on one of the caravan locker doors, using a plastic welding gun bought from you know where. Saved both the massive expense of a new door plus months of waiting for it to be delivered from Germany😀. Rather pleased with myself.
Re: New club book and map arrived yippee
@Francis I too like to go through the new Site Directory and I highlight facilities we require (or don't such as no dogs) and mark up sites we have visited or that have been recommended. We like to carry out current SD in the caravan but put the previous issue the car for use enough route to sites
Re: Autotrail-Thetford Fridge
At last the fridge is working on gas!
The repair was refitted and it still wouldn't work and Mark my engineer was stumped. He said that the only other thing it might be was the gas side, igniter/burner. He replaced these and still no go. The PCB was returned to the repairer, who kindly offered to test the repair and he found that his repair was working perfectly and returned it to me at no cost…free postage.
Mark then came and refitted it, tweaked the igniter and away it went. I now have a fridge that works on gas.
Long drawn out job, distance for engineer each time and posting, but it is done.
Richard at A&R Electronics came up trumps.
Amesford…..Brilliant reply, without it I would have been stuffed….thank you very much.
