Re: Performative Camping
The TikTok, Instagram sheep brigade might give it a try, but get badly mauled. We recently sat next to a lovely couple who had tried a camper holiday, she stressed about her clothes not being pristine. I think being confronted with how to cope going to the loo, having a shower, making do with minimum cooking facilities will frighten off most. This lot seem to prioritise props for a photo over basic comfort😂
Thinking about it, we have come across a few owners with huge caravans and motorhomes that don’t seem to be coping that well🤭 Proper camping is a different mindset….
Re: What are you all up to
I always like to think of myself as a pretty ptactical person. Not long after I left school I built a canoe with a friend, which we sold so that we could go to the Norfolk Broads on holiday. Later when I met Margaret I built a small canal cruiser. I was always doing things in house like installing kitchens, bathrooms and fitted bedroom furniture not to mention laying patios etc. Obviously as I got older, and probably better off, the bigger jobs were contracted out to the professional but I still kept my hand in. All that changed last May when I had my stroke where anything that needs dexterity is generally a no no or at the very best too slow. So imagine the situation when one of the brackets supporting a curtain rail got pulled out the wall. One of my sons tried to fix it but we did not have a powerful enough drill to get into what was probably the lintal. A bit late but the point of this post is that I discovered Age UK offer a handyman service at reasonable cost which includes small jobs. So Mark came out today and fixed the problem in about 10 minuts. He also does gardening so I have made a note of that for the future. So if any of you need any smaller jobs done it might be worth contacting your local Age UK branch, they may be able to help? The only thing I had to provide was my date of berth, I now await the invoice!

Re: What's on your check-list?
Because we were lucky enough to keep our caravans and motorhomes in the back garden they all had their own set of everything so the only thing that needed to be added for a reip was food and additional clothes. I suppose there must have been times when we may have forgotten things but I don't recall it being a problem. When we went abroad for a couple of months we needed to be sure we had all the documentation we needed and that was probably the time when a check list came in handy.

Re: Thoughts on the new MG S9 for a tow car? Impressive 2ton tow.....
OK, I'm a killjoy and one who is fairly risk averse. I like certainty and piece of mind. Given that the car will loose up to 40% in it's first year, is it worth risking it, as it could be an expensive mistake. If you need 7 seats then would a one year old Skoda Kodiaq be a better bet as we know it tows well and financially it is also a wise move.

Instructions for resetting lighting system in 2025 Unicorn Deluxe
I have finally cracked resetting the lighting system in our 2025 Bailey Unicorn Cabrera. I share in the hope they will help avoid hours of frustration for others.
Before anything, have master switch on for at least 5 mins before trying any of this to ensure no auto pair mode
Step 1. Clear the 3 boxes under the front drawers by pressing 5x on the black button
Step 2. After resetting those, don’t turn master switch off - this will keep them live and hopefully out of the auto sync mode that stays on for a while when first turning 12v on
Step 3. reset the remote ~
Before anything, have master switch on for at least 5 mins before trying any of this to ensure no in any auto pair modes
On the remote press and hold power button until LED comes on ~ then press the power button 5x quite quickly, if done correctly the led should flash to show it’s reset
Now everything is reset
To pair a box to handset (example for light zone 1, boxes should be numbered on the wooden panel, not that it matters too much)
Step 1 Put box 1 into pair mode by pressing the black button 4x
Step 2 put the remote within 10cm of the box (this is very important as the pairing won’t work otherwise)
Step 3 quick press the power button on remote
Step 4 select zone to pair to (zone 1 for this example)
Step 5 press and hold power button until led blinks and stays solid
Step 6 immediately short press S2 to start the pairing - wait a few seconds and if all is ok the led on box will go solid and it will now be working for that zone
All of this, can sometimes take a few goes - if you get ****** off just reset everything and start again
I found after pairing 1 box successfully to wait a 5 mins just incase anything else wants to try and auto pair and mess things up. The lights will come on and off during the process but ignore until completed
Now everything is reset
In my first attempt somehow Zones 2 and 3 got programmed to button 2 together. I reset box 3 and all worked well.
Re: Thoughts on the new MG S9 for a tow car? Impressive 2ton tow.....
It does self charge aswell, it has regen with although is marginal it will help, I saw some reviews inthe HS PHEV, Ibought an HS PHEV in June and have towed a 1400kg caravan about 600 miles with it so far. I made the same mistake as Jabo 1st time out by not reserving 50% or 100% electric power, it struggled a bit. 2nd trip to Cornwall I set it to reserve 100% and it towed a treat, never seemed short of power on the hills. In reality it doesn’t retain 100% and the electric range was down to about 8 miles when we arrived. Shorter trips I have retained 50% and this has been fine over say 50 miles. Still learning but overall very impressed with it.
Re: Chatsworth Site Closing
Yes. A week in November comes in at £413.00 for a hard standing with awning. Thats £59 a night. More if you have a dog.
Re: What are you all up to
Sorry to hear that your cold has returned @Bakers2 I hope your vitamins help and the results from your blood-test helps to resolve the issue.
Pleased to read that you are making some progress @Goldie146 and hope the wound on your leg soon gets better.
Enjoy your trip to Herefordshire @HelenandTrevor we might head that way later in the year, as we've not visited there for a while, fuel permitting.
It has been a tough time recently @Oneputt getting back to N.Norfolk should help you to relax and recuperate.
A difficult time for you too @DEBSC fingers crossed that the hospital can find out the cause of your daughters present condition and they can then sort it out and she can get back home.
We are now back home after an easy, if rather slow, journey, but an early rise this morning meant that OH was able to get 3 rounds of washing done and out on the line this afternoon. The sun came out around noon and coupled with a warm wind meant that most of it dried nicely outside. Caravan all cleared out and ready for me to clean it again! Had a reminder from the caravan dealer about it's service so that's now booked for early July, after our next trip, which is mostly planned and booked. Just have to hope that there is no fuel rationing, as we have seen pumps closed off already.
Re: What are you all up to
@Wherenext a very happy birthday to Mum in law Wherenext, and what a grand age. Hope she had a very lovely day.
@vbfg OH says a manual pump better, just take your time if going from flat. The ones you stand on and pump up and down (track pump)are great for home, not expensive, but it’s worth carrying a small micro pump as well unless (like me🤭) you have your own soigneur to cater for your needs. If you have big
bike tyres, such as MTB ones, then it can take forever with a micro pump, in which case, a good quality portable electric pump might be useful in saddlebag. There’s a useful App that calculates tyre pressures based on wheel size, and weights human and bike combo. Will see if I can post a link…….
See photo, this is App you need, it’s free.
