First caravan Trip to France

Hello!
We are planning our first trip to France this year.
- Any comments or suggestions about Les Ormes, Domaine & Resort?
- Any suggestions for a campsite close to Euro Disney?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Ken!
welcome! We did our first trip to France last year as a family! It was AMAZING, and we can’t wait to go back!In regards to Disney, we’ve been recommended Caravaning des 4 Vents and this is where we are planning to book ourselves this year!
I’m interested in Les Ormes too, so would love to hear what people think too!

Ken, Domaine les Ormes is hugely popular with families who want that sort of all action holiday park - the website and reviews say it all. If your children are the right age to enjoy the activities and entertainment on offer they will have a ball. . Shrinking violets and OAPs might not.
One downside is that it’s quite a way to good beaches at the coast. And think about your journey to get to Les Ormes - . It’s a long haul from Calais in traffic on a summer Saturday.and a western channel ferry might be easier.1 -
Thanks for the information, Rachel and Eurortraveller.
On paper, Les Ormes looks great. Apparently they visited CAMC to present the site. The staff were impressed. We will book!
We have now booked Newhaven - Dieppe which saves some of the drive through France. We would have preferred Portsmouth - Caen but the ferry was a lot more expensive.
When travelling with DFDS, phone their ticket office to get a 20% discount for over-60s which is not available online.

Ken, try a booking via the club, but if it turns out the club has sold all the pitches it was allocated then try a booking directly with the campsite. I hope it goes well for your family, but other first timers going to Brittany may prefer a tour of gentler, more intimate campsites - and they can be reassured that sites like that are plentiful in Brittany. Good wishes to all.

Hi ken,
We have stayed at Des Ormes once to see what it was like after seeing all the good reviews. As Euror has hinted like any site it will be down to your personal needs and tastes-for us it was OK, but we wouldn't be going back.
Our pitch was bad, steep slope and muddy, but as it was only for a couple of nights, probably why were given it, we didn't bother moving. The site was still quiet, it was mid June, it lacked atmosphere and the high hedges dont do anything for interaction with fellow campers.
We visited Eurodisney in 2013 and stayed at Croix De Vieux Pont. We chose this so we could visit Chateau Pierrefonds, where the BBC TV series Merlin was filmed, our Grandson was a big fan, and also as they had a coach trip from the site to Paris and Eurodisney.
It was a great trip but we would prefer Le Puy du Fou for a family trip destination.
We use as many references as we can when looking for sites and there are many options. Our research is usuall via ACSI, the search for sites website/app and using Google maps to search for 'camping'.
Hope that you have a good trip!

We are also thinking of doing a similar trip with our soon to be 9 year old. It will probably be next year so if you do go this year I would love to hear all about it!
Here are some of the Overseas Campsites that we have that are not too far from Disneyland Paris. The reviews should help as well.
You can see all campsites in that regions and the map here too: Ile de France
Hope this helps. 🙂
