What's yours?

I like a treat every now and then and make a Toasted Seeded Sandwich with some lightly grilled Serrano ham laid on some chilli mango chutney with smoked salmon laid on the ham and topped with another slice of the grilled Serrano. Absolute bliss.

    A bacon sandwich.

Either with hot bacon and butter or one the bacon and egg M&S type - other providers are available. In fact on the move it's always my goto especially with a meal deal.

Back when I was skinny (I was once honestly🤣) I used to love Crunchy Peanut Butter topped with Golden Syrup! Sounds 🫣 but that slightly salty unsweetened taste, combined with a drizzle of pure sugar was absolutely divine. And a good energy booster for hours coaching sports.

Nowadays, I like a lovely fresh French bread stick, with quality vintage Cheddar and onion. Yummy😋

@Cornersteady we used to overnight in a huge oxbow layby just outside Moreton in the Marsh on our way down to Cornwall. We would wake up around 6am to the smell of cooking bacon, as there was a lovely Greasy Spoon that used to roll in for the day. We got quite friendly with the owners they saw us that much at one time. We always had an Egg, Mushroom, Tomato Bap for breakfast, set us up nicely for second tow down to SW. Happy Days😁

Anyone remember fellow CTer Samantha? She contributed to a thread about Caravan Club sandwiches. Can’t remember her recipe but it sounded delicious at the time. Does she still contribute?

Samantha's Suppers. I remember her - an Australian lady. She was married to RichieBuoy but I don’t think she posted after he passed away.

Two names from a long time ago.

I like a vintage cheddar and sage and onion stuffing sandwich as well!

The ‘new’ search engine works. I was surprised too,👍 And did you try it, Rowena? Was it worth that wait?

As for my favourite sandwiches mine has to be crab and prawn with a side salad and mayonnaise. Best with a cold beer on a hot summer day.

Roast chicken and tomato on granary. And do NOT forget the salt.

Corned beef (1/4” thick) in homemade seeded bread with a smear of pickle 😋

That's brought back memories. Have you tried corn relish instead of the pickle.

Another memory is of our boys now 30 and 34, when growing up. One of there favourite meals was build your own sandwiches. We used to arrange everything out along the centre of the table and they just went for it..

I do like a nice fresh crab sandwich. Homemade though, with lemon mayonnaise and some good salad.

We often call in at the Crab Hut on Brancaster Staithe in Norfolk, where they sell the freshest of crabs and crawfish. As I'm Gluten Free I normally take my own Baguette or Panini and they are happy to fill the bread with a normal portion and whatever you fancy. They catch their own shellfish. Sit on a bench with this and a cup of tea. Bliss.

”Have you tried corn relish instead of the pickle.”

No, I’ve not. I’ll have to pick some up next time we go to Morrisons 👍

Mention of crab. Call me a luddite, but I can’t say I’m a fan of it. I’d just as soon have tuna, and a whole lot cheaper. I’ll get me coat…🙂

Same here as I too do not like crab either, and also like tuna, but in a salad rather than in a sandwich, @Freddy55

We both love crab - and Ros likes tuna. Out of a tin - I hate it with a vengeance. On the other hand - tuna straight out of the sea - as we once had when living on our yacht in the Med (many, many years ago!) - is something else😀. Just like fillet steak - absolutely gorgeous - yummy.

I also like a hot fish finger sandwich, bread well buttered, salt and pepper with a sprinkle of vinegar. Anyone tried proper chip spice ? It’s a bit like Aromat and goes on lots of stuff including sandwiches, it’s not just for chips! However, it may be just a Hull thing!
