No, Calor is not available in Europe. I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than I will be along soon to tell you of alternatives and adapters. There is a brief footnote about it in CAMC’s tech info.

I would expect full bottles should last but, obviously, if you run your heating or fridge on gas it will make a big dent in your supply. Anything that lets you use electricity rather than gas will help. Some people choose air fryers and induction hobs.

We used to go to Europe for two months at a time and two Calor 6kgs cylinders lasted more than the trip, in fact I doubt we used one full cylinder. We did sometimes take a Camping Gaz 907 cylinder with us so we could cook outside. By the way Camping Gaz is pretty universal all around Europe and I don't know if it has changed but used to be relatively cheap in Spain compared to other countries but I may be judging that on pre Euro days? This all assumes you are not going in the winter?
With regard to the electric BBQ, just check the wattage as, certainly in France, often electric hook-up is only six amp, I think in Spain 10 amp is more common, I am sure someone will confirm.

We toured Western Europe for years - always using campsite hook ups for fridge, kettle, lights and heating, and facilities block for washing, showers and dish washing. Our only gas use was a 3 burner hob for minimal cooking - so two these 4.5 kg butane bottles lasted two or three years. Other caravan life styles differ, so Camping Gaz is a widely available available back up as has been said - take an adaptor with you just in case.

Let’s hope you find hook ups of sufficient amperage 👍🏻

We have been to France many times with two Calor Gas cylinders and very rarely have we got through the first which would have been part full when we started. Provided one is full and the other near that, there should be no problem. We have found that some sites will charge you different prices for different power outputs, so if they do 16 amps would be our choice.

Many thanks for your confirmation reply. We are going for 5 weeks, so hoping that 2 x 7kg bottles will last.
I was considering taking my small electric ninja BBQ to save on gas, although it is just added weight

+Great information, thank you. just checked and the bbq uses 2400w, which equates to 10 amps… too close to the limit . we are going late march, so using your experiences, I now think that we will be fine.

thank you for your swift reply and answers. I am now convinced that we will have enough gas to last.

our heating if needed in April runs on electricity, as does the fridge. the airfryer is good advise. many thanks

@Fozdog_71 Not quite sure what you mean by different? If you were to use any other cylinder than a Calor Gas you would need a different pigtail to fit the cylinder. For example if you took a Camping Gaz cylinder as a spare and wanted to connect it to your motorhome system you would need a specific pigtail (connecting tube) with the right fittings. Likewise if you obtained a cylinder abroad you might need a different connector but these are usually available where you buy the gas.
