ACSI 2025 - IS IT WORTHWHILE?

Hi

We are going to travel around France in an Auto-Trail T615 motorhome for the month of September this year and have seen mentioned that the ACSI CampingCard could prove beneficial.
Has anyone had any experience of using it please and what are the benefits or drawbacks?
Are there any other similar products around that are just for France?
Cheers

You don't say whether you have a caravan or a motorhome? We always found the ACSI Card useful with both. I suppose the downside might be is that you could miss an excellent site which is not included in the scheme if you slavishly just use ACSI. If you are a motorhomer you do have the option of using specific motorhome aires. Being away a month I think you do stand a chance of getting your money back by making use of the discount.

As soon as I retired I bought into the scheme, as we can now travel out of high season. You are generally assured of getting the best price available.

If you are doing longer stays when for example deals such as 10 nights for price of 7 are available, it is possible to get similar prices to those available with ACSI. You would however have to spend a lot of time on your planning to achieve them.

Joining for me is a no brainer.

We always took that card - and sometimes used it. But sometimes we found sites like this which didn’t want it.So it all depends where you are going. But best to get one.

@DavidKlyne - The OP did say they were in a motorhome.

If you intend just using Aires then probably not worth it. Otherwise it most definitely will be. Just as an example, a couple of years ago we stopped at a site close to the beach in the Netherlands, late June, just for 3 nights as it was easy drive to the ferry terminal We paid €14 a night. The Dutch couple next to us paid over €50 per night. We had ACSI, he didn't. Just one small example.

We have a renewing annual membership and find it well worth it. One site last year for 4 nights just about covered the cost. We also pay for the ACSI ID card which costs another €5.50. It provides liability insurance and a lot of the smaller sites we prefer like it and it speeds up checkin.

Apologies to the OP I should have read the post properly regarding outfit. On that point though if the intention is to use sites then we always found ACSI useful right across Europe. If the idea is to use mainly Aires then it becomes questionable. However given the initial outlay is hardly a Kings Ransom it would be worth it just to get a flavour which might be useful for future trips.

I always travel to Europe with a digital ACSI Discount Card, an ACSI ID Card, a Camping Car-Park Card and the paid-for SearchforSites App loaded on my phone. These give me maximum flexibility when touring.

It is worth noting that digital ACSI membership now runs for a full 12 months from the date you join, rather than 31st December of that year.

PS. I also have an Emovis tag for French autoroute tolls.

We have used this card for many years and as commented already it can pay for itself after a relatively short number of stays. Because it’s for out of season use we also found in many cases, not all, the sites allow you to choose any pitch including ones that would be a premium rate in the season. However, it’s always worth checking discounts as one site we stayed at for several weeks in Spain gave a better than ACSI price for longer stayers. The details of opening times in the handbook give a better chance of being correct than some other books, we found.
