Site fee reduction

I am new to the club site and I've tried to book a trip whilst not signed in and a general paying customer and it is the same price if I sign into the club site. I thought that I recieved a reduction by being a member of the club.... Is this not correct?

Not sure how far you have gone but if you try to actually book the site will need you to sign in which should activate the additional costs. To be honest the size of the additional charge does mean no sensible non member will book. The addition is prohibitive for most.

I have tried that and the non member price is the same as the member... Confusing

If you go ahead and book as a non member it will add £15 a night to your booking. The published costs for the site are, as you say, exactly the same for members or non members. As Wildwood says, very few are going to book with that sort of penalty, as if you want to use the sites you are going to join. It could perhaps be made a bit clearer prior to folk joining as you are not the first to voice confusion.

@Fozdog_71 you are not shown as a club member here but as a forum participant which is the same as my details and I am not a club member. It may simply be that the forum hasn’t yet caught up with you being a club member but it’s something to keep an eye on to ensure you get members benefits.

I would suggest that you call the Head Office booking service and explain that you want to make a booking but that membership details not being recognised. They may be able to sort that out for you at the same time.

The prices quoted assume you are a member but it will add the supplement for non member before transaction Not sure exactly when as I've never booked as a non member or had a guest..

@Fozdog_71 if you make your booking as a Member, signed onto the booking system as a Member, then the prices you are quoted are Member prices. (I’m not even sure non Members can pre book a pitch via the Club booking system to be honest. Most non Members roll into Club Sites, and unless they join, will pay the Member price plus an extra £15 per night.)

If you were expecting to find £15 per night off your booking price quoted on the Club website, with you logged in as a Member…..sorry, but that’s not how it works. If this is the case, then you won’t have been alone thinking this is how the discount works. Hope you get things sorted👍

If you try to book without logging in the the prices do appear to be the same for members and non-members. However if you scroll down a bit there are two boxes where you have to select member or non-member. If you select non-member the prices automatically increase by the £15 a night.

Well spotted @the browser, but can I ask how you found the upper listing as I am unable to do so?

the first screen shot from the normal site listing & the second screen shot is from the price reduction listing

So the from price has been increased prior to offering the £25 discount

The from price is pretty meaningless to most anyway.

I think you only get the actual price when you hit the booking page. The from figure is the lowest possible cost two plus hook up, not when you are hoping to go. I would just go to the booking page and if the figure is acceptable book and if not go elsewhere. I would stop worrying about an irrelevant figure which very few will get.

I believe the headline price quoted is for one person, plus pitch fee. The lowest available for that site in the year.

It's all a bit smoke and mirrors until you pick your date, pitching nights, and number staying. Only then will you get the cost of your stay.

Prices can vary daily, by a few pence during the year.

That is correct. That £19 a night is for one person on a non EHU pitch for a few days during September.

But how come there is a price of £17:40 quoted when that price doesn't appear anywhere on the prices listed throughout the year?

Quoting the cheapest possible price is industry standard. You really have no choice as an operator to use this as nothing else will work. Possibly a better way is to publish the real costs on the web site so you can check when you want and not quote minimum pricing. The only real benefit of the current figures is that it will tell you how sites compare if you are checking an area. If one says £17 and another £19 you can bet the £19 will show an even bigger gap when you want to go.

I don't people are taken in by the from price in this club or anywhere. It's used everywhere and when I've seen it in all places I know it's very unlikely to apply to me.

But way before before pressing the buy button with the club the price is shown clearly.
