@Hja but why should that matter?

Those with caravans may well be interested in the facilities/locations etc of Aires, for future reference if nothing else, @SteveL

They may well be, but the sort of thing I was thinking off was:-
Under the old system where it might say a caravaner from Nottinghamshire. In a reply requesting stopping places on route to the south of France, I have suggested Camping car park Aires. Specifically the Mon village type that allow caravans when they have facility blocks open. Under this new format, unless the type of unit is mentioned I am left guessing and have to provide a more woolly response.

@Hja it is possible to see what folks have if they have put it into their profile. You simply click on their avatar, then click on view profile, and if it’s been put in, you can read it. Unless privacy is utilised👍

But that requires people to look at the profiles, which I confess I don't do when answering a question or post.
At the end of the day it's up to people to decide what information they are willing to share, it's not a shame but just their own personal preference.

One of the things that is missing from here - and I think I did mention it during the trial @Rowena - is that, once again, the poster's location has disappeared from each post. It's often quite useful and relevant to know where someone is located, when replying. It was eventually brought back to the old forum and I wonder if it could be on here as well?

I think the underlying problem might just be that folks asking a question quite often don’t give enough information in the first place. If I was asking for a stopover say between South Yorks and Cornwall, I would add that we have a small MH, a dog and want somewhere quiet. But often what you might get is “I am travelling to Cornwall, can anyone recommend a good place for a break”. Which tells you very little to be honest🤷♀️ Same with asking for help with an outfit problem, many folks actually forget to tell what the actual outfit is, make, model, etc…. And then get few responses.
As my teachers use to say, good information asked, gets a good informed response. Otherwise it’s guess work.

@richardandros I can certainly put the suggestion forward and there might be away we can add to the profile fields too.

I always thought that a camper van was a panel van, minibus etc that has been converted and a MH was purpose built on a van chassis, I have a converted SWB Transit and my brother has a 7m long crafter conversion and we both call them camper vans……but I have heard differing opinions 🤷♀️
