We're at 'quite an unusual' CAMC site, at the moment. The serviced pitches where we are are huge. Lovely bright morning....

I've included a photo of the empty pitch next door to us.... notice something is missing? Any ideas where we are....?

P.S. It's a main CAMC site.... not an AS or CL... 🙂

Just a guess as we have never been……Hebden Bridge? It’s looking more Northern than Southern, and I thought I could see Studley Pike in the background of one photo. And who ate the little posts🤣

@Takethedogalong said.... 'And who ate the little posts🤣" That's a good clue TTDA... 🙂 It's not Hebden Bridge..... I'll see if I can take some more photos as we go... before 'the big reveal'.... 🤣🤣🤣

It looks as if @RedKite has it! It's Lickpenny.

No pitch markers as the Club has only recently taken over the site.... they haven't sorted this yet!! There is lots of 'work in progress' here. I think the Club would have closed the site to do a refurb, but they are keeping it open to honour the bookings made by the previous owners. They are sorting out the reception at the moment.... I guess they'll do the inside work while the weather outside is iffy. Aftercsaying that, the sun is shining brightly today....

The serviced pitches, where we are, are huge and are all hedged. Only a handful of folk on site at the moment. The site staff wern't too concerned about how sited the caravan on the pitch...

we like hedged pitches. Cromford Mills worth a visit DSB, lots of heritage stuff, and there’s a nice stroll along the Cromford Canal with a cafe at the start if it’s open👍 Enjoy.

I had always thought the Club were not keen on "Hedged" pitches as there aren't many Club sites where they exist. We like the privacy and they immediately put a stop to complaints of dogs and humans trespassing across someone's pitch. I can see that they create more work because the hedges have to be maintained and grass around them is a bit more difficult to cut. Having said that the new "Premium Pitches" which are appearing on some sites do have hedges planted around the perimeter of the pitch. So maybe the Club have had a rethink.

@DavidKlyne As the Club have only recently taken over the site, I guess it remains to be seen what changes they make… ??

I’m in two minds about hedged pitches. Yes, it’s nice to have a bit of privacy, but on the other hand, one doesn’t normally get a ‘view’. There’s no pleasing some people 😄

@DSB I can't imagine the Club would remove them unless there was a need for major renovation of the pitches and the site generally?

@Freddy55 🤣I wouldn’t want to be behind a Sleeping Beauty high hedge, but 4/5 ft with one side open is very nice. Gives a touch of privacy, establishes your pitch boundaries, and if you are really lucky, you might be able to pitch how and where you want within that hedged space. Lickpenny is on a hill, there will be views in this instance, and there’s possibly a good choice of pitch at the moment. It looks a nice site, but we use a gorgeous CL about a mile away at Lea Mills, this has hedged pitches, lovely views and is probably a third of the price of Lickpenny. It’s a very nice area👍
