“However, someone in IT does need to be told this is not working.”

I’m sure they have. Let’s hope this doesn’t go the way of the server errors.

It is just another attempt by those at HO to P' off we contributors so much that we stop posting and then "they" can turn round and say that as no-one is interested any more we may as well just shut CT down, as has been their plan for a long while now!!

David, the number of posters appear to be decreasing on a weekly basis. There are not many more than twenty that now post on a regular basis. The whole "new" set up if really discouraging, and it is now so easy to loose a post, as I did last night, even when trying to copy and paste.yell

I appreciate that it appears that the "regular" posters are quite low in number. I am not sure that is entirely due to the short comings on the forum. Have you looked at UKCampsites recently? This was once a thriving forum but now is not much better used than this and their software has always worked wonderfully, if a little old fashioned. We all know that if we get a contentious issue arise on the forum dozens will start contributing on that subject but they are probably not so interesting in the more general posts on here. I don't know if you are a member of Facebook but hobby related groups on that platform I suspect account for a very high proportion of online hobby chat. Some subjects get a 100 replies in less that half an hour! I accept the issues we have do not encourage people to come here but that is often disproved if the right subject comes along.

FB has the advantage it is quick and easy to use and is not prone to errors. However it is pretty useless for a good debate on hot topics.

I tend to agree. Also the more heated discussions are more prone to get shut down quickly. I think Facebook Groups are good when they are set up for more specific topics like a brand of motorhome where you can get good advice quickly. Where they are not so good is for general discussions. And why people feel the need to post pictures of their breakfast or evening meal I have no idea!!!!

Well I will take my chances of another insinuation of me being called a stress head again on this subject and just ask the question. Rowena, it’s been 10 days now since these changes with lots saying, on this and other chat headings, that is difficult to type, and causing other problems, do you know, is it going to be sorted, put back to how it was or will we just have to put up with it. Thanks.

Just as a check I thought I would reply using my Samsung S9 phone. I need a magnifying glass to check what I have typed. It is almost invisible!

P.S. it is readable once posted or in edit mode.

Debs,  I think you will be very lucky if you get any sort of reasonable response from Ro, or anyone else from HO. They are very good at mucking things up and very poor at communications of any sort apart from self promotions.

The thing is, Browser, none of us are forced to be members or to use sites or this forum. It is entirely our own free choice whether we use and tolerate the offerings - which sometimes leave much to be desired - or whether we walk away……

Well my equipment has caught up. Android phone and tablet.

I saw the larger, darker headings and the new font., actually I like the new font, before. But everything else was the same.  Now I have the previous font, not the same as the new and in a silly small size for my replies. This suggests, I have no idea on this type of thing, that maybe it wasn't included I the new user friendly Web upgrade? Wouldn't that be a surprise?

After starting the thread, it would be nice if Rowena could let us know that the replies have at least been read. Sorry Rowena, that bit is you. We accept that you tell us you've passed it on to the relevant team in previous instances. We also have come to accept that it ends there.......

Well, its got even worse. Up until now the main issue for me has been on my ipad where the text is far too large and too bold. Its been OKish on my PC - just this tiny print when responding to a post. But this evening the headings on here are large, bold and brash.

Dont they test anything? Using google chrome with windows 11.

    Rowena

Could you also look at TW's screen shot on page one of this thread. It clearly shows advertisements to the right of the posting box. Surely IT can remove these as the Club don't usually have third party advertising on their website? I think they are left over from when the Club were promoting a deal on Volvo cars?

The tiny text that seems to be the only one available when writing a post is hardly inclusive and / or welcoming for those with visual impairment.

One wonders how the club allows these sort of adverts, which have no sort of connection to caravanning, to piggyback onto this website, unless of course they are receiving a good financial hand out for doing so? Would you please explain the reasoning behind them being there, Ro.

I've used adblocker to block these adverts. The club should be ashamed. There are plenty of female members who may very well be insulted by such adverts.

I'm no prude but there's no place for this on an inclusive members forum.

There shouldn't be any general adverts on the Club website. However I suspect what has happened is the IT team have set it up to accommodate the Volvo adverts but once that promotion ended Google have just filled the space with general advertising. Its entirely up the the Club's IT department whether the website is set up for advertising and I have no issue with that if its member related promotions. I suspect what has happened is that two departments within the Club are not talking to each other. Whoever does the advertising should have told the IT department that the promotion was over and the IT department should have then reverted the website to none advertising. Does nobody from the IT department have a rummage through Club Together to see what is happening? Probably not.

What has the World Health Organisation got to do with it? 😁

Just install the free adblocker extension or similar and practice how to use it.  Also if you bank online installing Rapport Trusteer Endpoint Protection is well worth doing.
