Motorhome and Caravan Window Cleaner
Hi Folks
Any recommendations for window cleaner for M/Hs and caravans? I know that there are a lot of makes out there but I don't want to buy something then find that it is not very good.

Paul from Tourershine recommended using only Auto Glym Fast Glass when he came to do his magic on my van last year. He asked me if I had used their Resin Polish on my windows (which I had!) and then spent on hour with his power polisher getting all the swirl marks out!! I have to say, they looked like new when he'd finished and I won't make that mistake again.

Another vote for Autoglym Fast Glass followed by their Resin Polish.

But don't use the polish on caravan windows, Jill. It's mildly abrasive and will leave tiny swirl marks on the plastic when you rub it. That's why Paul had to use his power polisher and some sort of 'magic treatment' on mine to restore them back to how they should have been. I didn't notice anything amiss but once he had restored them, I certainly did see the difference

WN & Richard, do you use the A G both inside and out or just on the outside of the windows?

Am I missing something here but I just clean my windows with a damp chamois leather? Something I have been doing for years and seems to work OK?

Nellie - I use it on both sides - excellent for getting Meg's nose marks off the windows above the front seats

I have used VuPlex for years on all plastic windows and other items. It works well.
For glass surfaces, windscreen etc. lemon vinegar is my choice, but it does not seem to be available in the UK. I get it in Spain or Portugal. Cheap as chips 0.99 Euro a litre.

Thanks, Richard, just what I need to know. A quick search on line and it appears that Status Car Care is the cheapest place to get it.

Thanks for the replies. DK, I tend to just use a very small amount of washing up liquid in hot water and a chami like window cloth to clean glass windows, but my query (which I should have mentioned) was for plastic windows, in case they had to been cleaned with a specific cleaner. I would never put polish on windows as it is so very difficult to get off as I found out when I bought a pack of windscreen wipes which must have contained some sort of polish.

We have imitation black granite worktops and splashbacks in the van and VuPlex is the only product I have found to polish it without leaving smears. The cream high gloss kitchen units at home also benefit from it. Good product.
