Almost ready for May trip to France
Having already had some advice from CMC members I thought I would try again. Google maps has given me a route that is toll free.
We are staying our first night at (DK recommended)Le Eppinettes in Calais, Google route continues through Rouen-Le Mans- Le Brenne- Oradour Sur Glane - Puy de Dome and finally Remuzat.
I have looked for sites at each location and hope the one's I have chosen will turn out to be ok. I have not booked any so far, I have taken member's advice and plan to turn up on the day.
If anyone has a favourite site at these locations I would appreciate learning about them, my eyes are feeling the strain. It would be ideal to be able to walk into any town.
I have printed out the previous suggestions from our community.
Thank you.

Does anyone know if you are required to provide "Proof of Accommodation and Funds" when arriving in France/Spain in a motorhome. It's 3 Years since we have done any touring, and have usually just booked the ferry, and not any sites.

That is not required You can continue as before.

I said earlier that those things are not required -although they are needed if you are applying for a visa to stay more than the normal 90 day limit.

You mention Oradour sur Glane greylag. There is a free municipal Aire on the edge of town. About 20 minutes walk to the La Cité Martyre, less from the centre of the new town. Dump, plus water facilities, tokens for water from tourist information. Note that’s closed on Sundays, when we arrived, but there was a tap I could get my watering can under. Don’t arrive too late as it gets busy, even at the end of May when the photo was taken. Fine for a night, or two in our case. There is a good supermarket about 10 minutes walk away. It even has washing machines, very useful in our case.

Aires I have used on or near your route :
- Rouen : Aire outside Camp Eure at Pont de l'Arche where the D6015 crosses the Seine. No electric but water and waste.
- Tours : Camping-Car Park Aire at Veigné with EHU and all services.
- Issoire : Municipal Aire with water and drive over waste. Opposite a supermarket and just off the A75 south of Clermont-Ferrand.
Not far from Remuzat as the crow flies is a nice Camping-Car Park Aire at Malaucene which has EHU and all services. It is 200 yards from the centre of a touristy village which caters for cyclists "doing" Mont Ventoux and has a large market on Wednesdays.
Hope this gives you food for thought - as you may guess, when touring I much prefer to stay 2-3 nights on aires especially ones with services.
Happy touring
Jim
