I showed this to friends of ours who last year,  on retirement, bought their first motor home - they'd never camped or caravanned before, always self catering or staying in hotels with their families. Their one reservation about the motorhome was that their children/grandchildren wouldn't be able to join them any more. So they thought this scheme was great and since they'd already used Moreton in Marsh were delighted to know that the club was extending this type of stay.

Maybe the club is looking ahead and catering to this "new breed" of motorhomer?

Friends of ours had to give up touring for health reasons a couple of years ago. They now use the glamping pods on a regular basis, so that they can stay with family, who still tour, as well as stopping in them on their own. We had a great evening in one with them back in November, and I should think they are great when you can sit outside and have a meal in the sunshine.

Most are no larger than a big caravan or MH, the only difference is that they are fully serviced, including an ensuite bathroom. If the Club extends this type of accommodation, around the UK, it’s just another way of touring, but without hauling your bedroom/ kitchen around.

We have in fact used one, we booked one for our 'children' to come away with us while we were on the same site but then they couldn't come so we used it ourselves. It was great, we arrived on site and were 'pitched' within minutes, no unhitching, no connecting up EHU and everything else, as TDA says full sized bathroom, large lounge...we could use whatever car we wished and no towing.

I remember thinking that in winter (or even when we're older) it would be a better way to stay on a club site.  .
