The club don’t provide a choice of grass at many of their sites either. I assume those that want that type of pitch avoid them. Whether you like it or not WTG service pitches are very popular and the club is hoping to capitalise on that demand, as any good business would.

WTG, try the Stover site. Nice setting, no facility block and no SPs to pay for. It’s not far away either.

Having seen the video of the PVC fire at Meathop Fell, there’s no way I would want to pitch on a car park for the night even with only every other bay in use (if it can be enforced). The consequences don’t bear thinking about ☹️.
I reckon a few extra quid for more space and staff on hand with fire equipment is well worth it. What price safety?

Yes, my thoughts exactly when I watched that video.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback. As a polite reminder, please keep conversations constructive and friendly on Club Together, despite differences of opinion, as we need to ensure our Community Guidelines are followed.
I have spoken to the site team and they have advised that the Club is delighted that the Steamer Quay Club Campsite has been granted planning for development and all year round operational status. This will be a great benefit to both the membership and the local town of Totnes. As part of the development, we will be refurbishing the facilities and carrying out site wide development. The pitch offering will be standardised to all weather pitches with electric hook up, grey waste and water.
As we have received numerous reports on this discussion and people have had the opportunity to share their feedback, I will now close it. Feel free to contact the Club if you have any further thoughts or feedback you would like us to review.
