Spare tyre in Spain
I am planning to go to Spain next Srping. I have just come across a rule that says that it is mandatory to carry a spare tyre for vehicles up to 3,500 kgs.
I have a small motorhome - Ford Autotrail T615 classied as up to 3,500 kgs. With bikes carrier on the back and no real space underneath, I can not take a pssare tyre as well.
I am sure this is not an unusual situation. Is the requirememnt for a spare wheel real? And if so, how have you got round it?

For Spanish residents, a spare tyre or puncture repair kit must be carried in the vehicle, but if your vehicle is registered outside Spain this is not obligatory.
I suggest that you carry a puncture repair kit. In reality and in my experience, it is unlikely to be of any use if needed but at least you have something to show the police if you want.
Enjoy your trip.

This is not true. If your vehicle is Spainish registered then you should carry an inflator kit at the least. For other foreign registered vehicles this is not even required.
Most car manufacturers dont fit a spare wheel and tyre for weight saving to reduce emissions.
Our 2022 Swift Select only has a tyre inflator and puncture gunge as standard, plus a jack to remove the wheel if required.
Have a good journey into Spain. We go every year as my father lives there.
