DVD player for Avtex Smart TV

Is there such a thing as a 'compact ' or small DVD player that anyone can recommend to plug into an Avtex smart TV? For occasional use when TV / Phone signal is poor. Technology never my strong point!

  My Avtex TV already has a DVD player, although we find it a bit fiddly to use. There are probably loads on freestanding ones on the market like this one
