Interesting to hear about G plan furniture Kj as friends of ours had a dining table and chairs from the eighties but have since got rid of that over here and they still have display cabinets and smaller units which they still use, we have an oak table and 2 oak chairs but the other two chairs picked up at end of sale are beech but same style as oak most of our units are oak and bought over from UK a few years ago.
Glad your return trip went well DSB we had breakdown at St Michaelswood service station on the M5 on the way home to Somerset having been upto to see my mum so had Mayday out it was the oil drain plug under the engine had come out as we had recently had a service on the car so they were very prompt days before mobile phones and got back home safely complete with our Spaniel Ben and that was many years ago.

We had a trip to Peckover in Wisbech today. The garden was looking absolutely beautful. We went with our DIL, our son was supposed to be with us but he dislocated and broke his finger trying to stop a ball while grandson was playing football - ouch! After 5 hours in A&E he is now all strapped up.
Some years ago we took our Macintosh teak dining room suite to a charity shop - dining room table, 6 chairs and sideboard - and bought an oak suite instead. As others have said I now regret it.

Had a good wander around Paxton Pits, just on the northern outskirts of St. Neots. Lovely place.
Spent a bit longer there than intended. We did want to go into the town but had too much else to do. Some food shopping, then diesel (the price of which is now bordering on ridiculous), and had a shower when we got back. Mrs WN kindly washed a gilet of mine that I managed to get oil on. She pronounced me a "walking disaster area". Can't disagree with her.
Off tomorrow to Suffolk, just inland from Southwold. Looking forward to it.

Off to Villefranche tomorrow and treating ourselves to a light lunch out, my OH got some type of oil a better clothing thankfully it came out heyho.
Good photos milliehull, my garden looks like a desert at present and not much out due to the heat last week.

Busy day, up at 07.00 and away before 08.00 to take towcar, VW Touareg, for service and MOT,
OH drove the Smart to get us home again, then when Touareg was ready (everything OK) we went back again for 16.00.
Stopped in past DD on the way home, then OH went home to make dinner while I loaded up some stuff DD wanted to send up here.
Several items now to be listed on Freecycle.

We have always preferred to buy good quality furniture, and keep it for a very long time....we have very little here that dates from after 1990. We do have a few Ikea Poeng chairs, and a couple of newer Stressless leather recliners plus footstools, but everything else is pre 1990. We like it so have kept it.
As well as the G Plan units, chairs etc, we have an extendable Danish made teak oval dining table from 1988, leather sectional sofa from 1979, pine bedroom furniture from the 1980s and 1990s, and an Ercol sofa from 1982. It now needs re-upholstered, but we have not so far found a fabric we like.
Todays throwaway society would despair of us!!
Even our kitchens are old.......our oak kitchen is original to the house, as is the pine granny kitchen......both from 1988.......and only now have we started replacing boilers and bathrooms.

It has been another dry day here but not as sunny as previous ones, definitely more Autumnal.

Crikey!!!! if we had all this furniture indoors we would have to climb over it to get around, when we moved south and down sized we decided on the minimalistical approach, we did have a G-Plan dining room table, i took that apart and i use it as a storage platform in the loft, we did have a G-plan round coffee table with a glass top and a nest of tables, glass top inadvertantly got broken so table went down the tip, in the conservatory we have a nice light oak table and chairs that we purchased at a knock down price from a garden centre that was closing down, rest of furniture was bought to be functional rather that decorative.
Well weather man said a high pressure zone was moving across the UK, and we would see lots of sunshine, wrong, it is a very dull morning, and the best time for swimming due to the tides is early morning, but did not fancy it today as very very dull, so went on an extended cycle ride, maybe the high pressure zone will be with us when we are down in Devon, fingers crossed.

Well OH has had his eye test all good but me no they did not book 2 appointments so now November after we have had our holiday at least will not have to wait 6 months this time, whilst OH was having his eye tests I sat outside and watch cars coming and going in the small car park we had park elsewhere and glad we did boy they do not have any patience here 1 lady got really stroppy with folk and tried parking not far from me but it did have flat rail on the ground anyway she drove over it and somebody else had moved and she decided to go to that one so reversed back over this frame again heyho 1 man and I had a quiet chuckle about her then she dropped her keys heyho.
Had a nice lunch out and shopping was done quite a few UK reg cars at LeClerc and chatted to one couple who have just sold their holiday home in the Aveyron after 8 years as she wants to have a place in Cornwall to be near the sea a bit of change and he is not too keen on seaside places and prefers country heyho.
Got an invite to stay with our friends for 1 night and then they will take us for a meal this weekend so something to look forward to before we go away and I will get a haircut as well.

Bring you winter woollies RK! It may not be that cold but after your 40º+ recently it sure will feel like it.
Had an interesting trip to a CL a few miles inland of Southwold today. On the A14 (oh how I hate that road)when we heard it was closed just after Newmarket so as our alternative was actually going through Thetford, where traffic was being diverted to, so we decided to suffer. In the slow moving queue to leave A14 when all of a sudden they reopened it going east. Westbound still closed, so we decided to proceed along it. Came off at Bury ST.E and promptly had road to Diss closed and diverted. Mrs WN earned her supper.
Anyway we eventually trolled up a bit the worse for stiffness but on a lovely quiet CL. Enormous pitches, could build a bungalow on ours.
Nipped into Halesworth mainly to stretch the legs. Nice to see its still ticking over. You do worry about these very small towns and we haven't visited for about 5 years.Been dull weather but quite glad of it on a travel day.

Early start this morning up and away from home by half 7 as the Volvo was going in for its service at the specialist we use in Glasgow I wanted it in first thing so was there for them opening just after 8. A more expensive day than planned as it also needed a couple of tyres new back brakes and an SRS sensor still here’s hoping that’s it for now also they give it a valet and wash so one less job for me this weekend. Back home early afternoon not the greatest weather today windy and quite cold.
Hope those are home or away are getting on well

No climbing over stuff here, it is quite a big house.......280sq. m. plus integral double garage.
MIL insisted on having her own kitchen, and heating system, so had a large lounge, large double bedroom, dining kitchen, bathroom, and multiple cupboards. About 25% of the total floor area. Only fair as she put in the proceeds of her house sale, plus a bit more, OH is an only child.
Main problem is that we now have 2 of a lot of things, plus even some of OH's grandmother's stuff. Not furniture, just other stuff. There is a limit to how many coffee tables one needs, I think I will have to "repurpose" a couple and make the actual solid wooden bits into something else.

Talking of coffee tables we have one of the Utility tables from the war or at least a few years after. It was in my Mum and Dad's house. Perhaps its worth something?

Sounds very nice😁 one for us perhaps next time we get down there. We had a lovely day in Bury St E, three churches, ruined Abbey and lovely gardens in parkland, and that’s before you go into the town. Henry VIII’s little sister is buried in one of the churches, she was Duchess of Suffolk. Orford Castle is back open as well now WN, we couldn’t get in last year, that’s another interesting area.
Busy, busy here with all sorts of things. Some indoor, some outdoor. Hoping for a short break soon.

Just back from a rare (for us) trip into York. We enjoyed a really good lunch there for OH birthday today. We arrived home to find a large box, umm birthday present perhaps!?? No it was a cartridge for our faulty bathroom tap, this is ridiculous packaging on an epic scale !🤷🏻♀️😂

Oh my goodness heddlo, that is ridiculous!! During lockdown I ordered an eyepencil online from Boots and it arrived in a box the size of a shoebox! Who organises these things? I think it might be a computor.

We've been coming to Suffolk, on and off, for nigh on 30 years yet we haven't been up Orford Castle yet Ttda. We even hired a cottage there one winter and took MiL and dog with us. Good walking and very interesting if you get across to the old war stations the island.
Good for nature as well. Many years ago Avocets only bred in the UK on one of the islands and the RSPB used to take boat trips out but very limited in April before breeding began. We managed to get on one. Well before caravan days. Can't remember where we stayed.

Another smashing day.
We went to Framlingham as we wanted to visit bothe castle and the church, both of which are steeped in our history and instrumental in many a Royal tale. 2 of the early Barons of the "Manor" were part of the Barons forcing King John to sign the Magna Carta and they were the first to apply their seals to it. Queen Mary had it as her base before becoming Queen. The chimneys are an interesting addition in the middle ages. Not often seen on castles. Quite a few of them on the structure.
The church also has oodles of history with Dukes of Norfolk lying in tombs there with their various offspring. Catherine Parr and Anne Boleyn were nieces of one of them. The photos from the church include one from the font but it needs expanding as its the little figure between the lions that is interesting. It's a Woodwose.
The organ dates from mid 1600's. Magnificent looking beast.The wall painting is from the 14th. Century. The roof was amazing but too much to photo. Anyone interested not only in churches but in history will find it worth a visit.
We finished off by nipping to nearby Saxted to take a few photos of the windmill, sadly closed today.
Hope everyone else had as much enjoyment as we did today. Even the weather behaved. Got home about 5 minutes before a thunderstorm.

At least you had a box, albeit super sized! I ordered a jigsaw puzzle from Amazon and they just stuck the label on the cellophane covering the puzzle box

Tda, we too will visit Bury St E and the Abbey as our trip takes us onto Stowmarket after Saxmundham. Hope you manage to fix up that short break.
Boiler service today, and all seemed fine so fingers crossed that it will last another year of more.

We were really impressed with B St E Nellie, there’s a good car park near the old Abbey park grounds, short easy walk to old Abbey, then the new Abbey, Gardens and other couple of churches are close by. Didn’t get much of a look around the town, but it is Georgian I think, so some interesting buildings. Like WN, we visited Framlingham Castle and Church, and again a nice little town. Henry VIII’s bastard son, Henry Fitzroy is buried in the church with the Dukes of Norfolk. He was married to one of the Ducal daughters.
Orford Castle is very interesting WN, and very old. Great views from the top! There’s a fantastic Fish deli at Orford Ness. Hope you all have a great time there.
Cycling break Nellie. Going to watch TofB, and give my new road bike a safe try out. Get that ambulance on stand by…….🤣
If you are anywhere near Thetford, Dad’s Army Museum is really good. Thetford Priory ruins are a decent stroll around as well.👍

With regard to Amazon deliveries - I wonder if it has anything to do with which distribution centre things come from? Up to about two years ago, I also experienced ridiculous packaging - but since then it's become sensible and I haven't had any unnecessarily large packages for ages.
Oh well, our two weeks at Thornthorpe CS (near Malton) comes to an end today - managed to get the awning packed away, yesterday - in the dry! Had a lovely time, doing not a lot - just enjoying the peace and tranquility of our surroundings. Thought I would post a few pics of the site - perhaps you can see why we love it so much

Looks like a good site for us R&R, we joined C&CC this year and are really liking their CS provision. Nice area that as well, lots to see and do not far away.

You'd like Bury St.E town itself Ttda. If memory serves me well I seem to recall specific Motorhome parking spots in the towns main car park.
I've been wanting to have a longer walk for a while so today we decided to park at Minsmere RSPB carpark and walk through the north bit of the reserve to Dunwich, over the heath. Lovely day for it with warm, not hot, sunshine and little wind. Stopped at the NT cottages for a cuppa and then at Flora's on Dunwich front for a Fish and Chip lunch. Broke up the walk so I was quite able to return without a problem.
Not a huge walk by any means, about 6 miles, but without a walking aid and the furthest I've done this year. Funnily enough I still felt inadequate as we met a man who was walking from Lowestoft this morning and stopping the night in Aldeburgh.
Seemed well capable of it as well. He's then carrying on down to Felixstowe tomorrow. Makes me feel tired just thinking of it.1 -

Richard, looks like a great site, however, only grass, is this on a firm surface?, my sister only lives some 5 miles away so was planning for next year maybe April when the weather may not be great, and it would appear you dont have to be a member of any club to use the site which is a plus
are the pitches now fully svcd?, there is mention of water taps being available to some pitches

WN you are right there are MH parking spaces in the centre close to the Cathedral. Ram Meadow car park, There is a section available for up to five motorhomes, this part of the car park is open 24 hours and has no height restriction.
Another lovely day, went AlPaca trekking with the grandtwins which they were thrilled with
