Caravan Covers
Having a leaky caravan, due to be repaired under warranty, though with some finger like splits in the roof at the rear which are ''not an immediate issue but need an eye kept on them'' according to the technician who examined my leaking van, I am seriously looking at purchasing a caravan cover.
I am tempted by the Protec product.
Has anyone any recommendations, comments or advice please?
I would feel a lot more comfortable over the winter months when it is in storage if it has some decent protection against the elements and water ingress.

I have a Protec cover and swear by it, but I don't think its meant to be 100% waterproof.
I'd give them a call if I were you and ask for their advice.
Don't be tempted to to throw a tarpaulin over it as this could damage the paintwork, or even trap the water inside the cover

Your cover will allow naturally occurring moisture to evaporate through the fabric's breathable membrane and is also waterproof and UV stable. In addition, the fabric has a soft non-scratch inner lining that removes any risk of damage to your windows or paintwork.

We have always covered our vans, usually using the off the shelf Maypole covers which are quite reasonably priced.
However upon downsizing from a larger van to a 6.36m PVC we found Maypole don't make a suitable cover and after some research stumped up the considerable extra cash for a specially made Protec cover.
We are very pleased with it, it is a significant step up in quality and seems to be made from a different type of material. We have had it about 6 months now and it does appear to be both breathable but also waterproof. Whether that will last remains to be seen, but so far so good.....!
And no, I don't work for Protec or anyone in the caravan industry !

We would recommend Protec covers. Bespoke fitted so not loose or flapping around. We had 3 on various caravans for winter storage. They were excellent, no scratches or internal damp. Our last cover was the ‘Easi fit’ style which was very much easier to put on and take off. Great product.

We have got a Maypole cover for the caravan and it does the job, but today we took it off to get van ready for our trip to UK and we usually fold it up outside but a lot of sticky seed heads about now so bought it inside not a good idea as the roof area has decided to dispose of lots of the green fluff and difficult to get rid of but all done and it is back in its bag it will get a good shake when we put it on again later in the year, agree the Protec covers are better re fit so would use Protec rather than Maypole again.

Thanks to all respondents, a clear consensus for Protec which I ordered yesterday to avoid a possible imminent price rise and I took advantage of a 10% discount from an advert in the magazine.
I did order for £25 extra a bigger bag, my experience with awnings is I can never get the beautifully factory packed parts back in the standard bag.
This morning I received an email informing me my order was now on the cutting room floor and about to be cut, either by hand or by one of their lazer cutters. I suspect the latter as it is a standard caravan with no special features needed.
I will be getting regular updates as the cover progresses through the process in their factory in Bradford. I was told the cover material is sourced from Scotland so it would appear to be a fully UK made product.
It looks like the forecast of the cover arriving on my doorstep before the end of September is likely accurate.
