Potholes
We all know about potholes. They are everywhere.
This year we went from Essex to a CL in Sussex not far from Newhaven ( Hammonds Green Farm) very good it was too. On arrival I went through the set up routine and on opening the caravan discovered drawers open and the cooker glass lid on the floor, Never experienced this before. I put it down to the wider track of the caravan meaning avoiding potholes is inevitably much harder. My van is not badly loaded and I was in no hurry at all.
My advice - reduce drawer loads and check the clamps on your cooker lid

If not already fitted, get some shock absorbers for the caravan.👍

Sort of the opposite of potholes but those speed bumps probably do more, or as much as potholes.
I've noticed that people slow down significantly for the car's wheels to go over them yet forget they are towing and then speed up slightly so I've seen some caravans actually bounce quite a lot, and the noise is terrible to hear too!

You are talking about full width speed bumps CS.
We actually had our own corner steady damaged when returning home on Friday by the village one, one of two sited in the road rather than full width. I'm normally able to avoid the caravan going over them by correct positioning. This time, due to parked cars I had to have the wheels of the caravan go over one. One of the footpads must have caught on the bump and the steady was buckled. Only went over it at very low speed as well. Will have other footpads taken off for future.
I've seen this happen on ferries during loading when tides make the ferry sit a bit lower. (Apologies for managing to get overseas aspect into post!)

Nah, not all ferries leave the UK, WN. You’re quite safe😀

We used to wait for a high tide when we used to tow a trailer with our MG, and used Torpoint Ferry😁 Spectator sport watching some cars getting on and off, back in the 1980/90’s. We haven’t been on Torpoint for years…….
I have to negotiate no less than 45 speed ramps/ cushions every day in a three mile there and back journey to Mum’s. Our Council is obsessed with them, very car unfriendly town. Expecting Mini to need something done to suspension at next MOT, despite me being careful🙁
