i am the proud owner of 3, yes 3 Whale external water pumps, 2 work ok, 1 will not switch off. I know that there is a little grub screw in a magic box under the front bunk that controls the length of time a pump runs on after you have switched the tap off, but why does it work for 2 but not for 3, is there something in the actual external pump that also has control of this switching off function.?

p.s. i am loath to moved the grub screw in case it screws up the 2 pumps that are working

I think you'll find the grub screw adjusts a pressure switch so when you turn a tap on the water pressure in the system drops the pump starts when the tap is turned off the pressure builds until it reaches the switch setting then turns of, I would suspect the pump that doesn't turn off is leaking so never reaches the switch off pressure.

I always carry a spare pump - sudden failure is not uncommon and always seems to happen on a Sunday!
