Brought petrol at our Tesco's yesterday 137.9p a litre. That's a penny a litre drop since my last fill.up. local Jet station was 138.9p but BP still consistently high at 147.9p. Literally round the corner to the Jet station.
Heard on? The today programme this morning about a rivet making company. Using about 100 kettle full of electric per second 😱😱. Not considered by the government as a higher user - so no help when current agreement ends very soon. Will be pay forty something per unit, signed up to only deal on offer months ago, but when it kicks in very soon he said current market rate twenty something per unit. Can't be completely certain on the actual figures as I was rather taken aback by all the figures

Cynical? Moi?
Read a strap line on Martin Lewis' MSE email saying Morrisons were usually the best place to get the cheapest fuel and especially at the moment as they have a £0.05 off if you spend over £35. We passed their petrol station yesterday, charging £163.9 pl. Full £0.15 pl more than the garage I mentioned the other day and even £0.05 more than the local Shell.
So where's the incentive? Sounds like Profiteering to me.

Just back from a superb fortnight at Cae Mawr on Anglesey. Most garages on the island are selling petrol AND DIESEL for the same price, or only a penny difference. The price we paid for diesel on Tuesday was £1.369 (Texaco, Llangefni).
If Anglesey can do it, so can the rest of the UK!

Nice to meet you here on the forum! It sounds like you've got a good handle on the local fuel prices. Are you looking to do some traveling soon?

You didn’t visit the right garages, Scoutman, but generally it becomes dearer the further west you go in the county. There again, the cost of living in Cornwall is higher than in many places so fuel follows suit.🤷🏻♂️

Filled up at Tesco at Banbury today at 140.9, which is much cheaper than other filling stations round about here.

Went to local Tesco but only for food. Noticed that Diesel was £0.10 cheaper than petrol. Thought they got the 2 mixed up but local competitor also had prices almost the same. Having just returned from a long tow I must check if I need diesel. If so I'll do it tomorrow. Price for diesel was £1.35.
