13 pin socket - continuous feed
I've recently fitted a 13 pin socket to our car for our newly aquired caravan (Not from a dealer).
It seems like I did a good job because indicators, brake lights etc all work OK. Fine so far.
However, there is a continuous feed to the caravan regardless of ignition switch.
What is puzzling me is what is this supply feeding? Our car deosn't like it because I get a warning when we open a door.
Can someone please educate me? What is the continuous feed for?

The feed is provided for the ATC as stated by others,it also can provide a live feed for the caravan if required due to caravan battery problems.

So, as I only need the +ve feed tor the ATC, which is only needed when I am towing, I can disconnect it and stop my car complaining about a live feed when I am stopped. I am also then sure that nothing is draining my car battery when I am taking a rest break.
Does that make sense?

yes,but what car do you have that is complaining?I have never come across any problems with having a constant live feed.
