New Rewilding Projects to visit

We visited Snaizeholme as a family several decades ago. Save for a few patches of ancient woodland and a small isolated population of Red Squirrels it was poor in biodiversity due to the actions of man although rugged in its beauty. Plans are now afoot to restore and rewild much of this Yorkshire valley, yet another excellent project in the making.
I’m hoping to make several visits to witness its development.
I guess Richmond Hargill House is the closest Club Site to Snaizeholme, is there another closer or better situated for a visit?

Very interesting Micky👍 Two good MH pub stops close by, The Station Inn which is right by the Ribblehead Viaduct, and The Old Inn, which is slightly further on towards Ingleton. Both ideally placed to visit Snaizeholme👍

Here is some excellent news, a river rewilded, re wriggled and rejuvenated. A lovely area in Cumbria, tranquil and not visited by the hoards and within relatively easy reach from several CaMC sites. The fishermen amongst us will really appreciate this initiative and returning nature I’m sure.
Humans managing the chaos of nature as it has been called. Still needs careful attention mind. Much more needed!0 -

Another reason to be cheerful. Restorative action has allowed these fish to once again pass from tidal waters into the freshwater systems of the Severn. Four fish are now active being used by migratory fish. We now need to clean our act up further!
Hopefully the viewing gallery at Diglis will be opened up to regular visits so more of us can see these wonders of nature. Not sure which CaMC site or Cl is closest but apparently you can book a viewing this month.

Some really encouraging news here and proof that landowners and other stakeholders can make a collective difference.
Looks like the Haycraft and Hunter’s Moon CaMC sites will be on my list to stay in order to visit this lovely area and projects within.

Not a particularly new one but a friend has just recommended this as a place to visit and learn more about the initiatives they are involved in. Not planning to return to Scotland this year but a definite possibility for the future.
