Towing in Italy

Finding it difficult to find a definitive answer to the maximum combined length of outfit allowed on Italian roads. Some say the combined length can only be up to 12m. Others are saying max caravan length is 14m or the caravan max is the 12m quoted earlier even the two clubs differ in advice. Anybody know the correct answer as my rig car and van combined is 14m

Camper vans and cars with caravans are not allowed to exceed 12 metres in length, 4 metres in height and 2.55 metres in width.

For more info google towing in Italy

The 12m limit applies to the towing vehicle only. Like most other European countries, the maximum combined length of a vehicle towing a trailer is 18.75m.

Thanks for the replies the problem I think is the standard of English used. Checked with Son in Law (a traffic cop ) and the limit in UK for an articulated system including towing a trailer is 18.75m. The crazy thing has anyone seen a 12m car

Not a 12m car, but a 12m truck. As far as dimensions are concerned, the law doesn't differentiate between a car and a truck.
